A beautiful place to stay and meet Tomar

Excellent location, despite being next to the station, no noise is heard.
The house and the room were comfortable and nice. However, the bathroom and shower offer little privacy.

GREAT VALUE and location in Tomar

My husband and I are on a 9 day trip and we've stayed at a palace and an old convent but we really loved our time her for the simplicity and price and how easy it is to get her and park and get to Tomar center. Highly recommend : )

comfortable and quiet

great location above the station but very quiet and peaceful
the very kind staff
large room with bathroom IN the room: open shower, open toilet, wall sink, however quite comfortable.
there are no large amenities but excellent cleanliness

Timeless grace above a working railway station.

We recognised the accommodation from the picture but hadn’t really appreciated we would be staying above the working station until we arrived. There is a large parking lot behind the building, so parking was easy. After entering the access code, the stairway entrance and reception area gave the appearance of a grand old hotel. There are only a few rooms upstairs and our room provided views across one of the main squares, a wartime memorial and the castle in the sky. Thomar House really provides a feeling of grandeur.
We took a stroll after settling in and as we arrived at a closing café, the waiter suggested we try a local chicken specialist restaurant (Casa dos Frangos). We had a lovely meal in what seems like a very popular, genuine and local restaurant. Thanks go out to two Canadian ex-pats that helped us and the waitress execute our orders. We had a great chat with them as well and they told us how they love the place and have become regulars.
In the morning, Annabelle had laid out our breakfast which was small, simple and perfect for us. We spent most of the morning exploring the town and castle both of which we would highly recommend. Thomar is a very attractive town and Thomar House was a perfect overnight for us.

Very difficult qualification, negative and positive aspects

Negative aspects:
The place is not the one in the photo. That is Tomar railway station. The accommodation is the door on the right and the two windows above.
Check in was very bad. We got to the door and no one answered and there was a device to include a code that had not been sent to us previously. I looked at the reservation information and didn't even have the phone number for the place. I Google it and manage to speak to someone who gives me the code information and tells me how to get to our room.
There are four rooms, ours had a shared bathroom with another, when if I had known I would not have booked with a shared bathroom.
Pretty basic breakfast.
Positive aspects:
The room was very good, everything was very well maintained and clean. The same with the bathroom, and notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't have gone if I knew it was shared, the experience wasn't all that bad.
