Belle Époque luxury and a very green setting
Luxury and modernity in the heart of Trás-os-Montes - a historic Belle Époque palace, renovated with great taste while keeping its soul - very hearty breakfast and very pleasant service - ate very well at the Wine cellar too -

Excelente service and naturally beautiful
My stay at Vidago Palace Hotel was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail shown by the entire team. The service was outstanding—every staff member went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience.

Superb
Friendly without being cloying and of course everything perfect except the bathrobes in the room which were ridiculously small

Experience to repeat
I haven't been there for many years. I hope to be back soon. The rooms could be bigger. But considering the building, I liked it!

Há lugares a que sabe especialmente bem regressar e ficamos muito satisfeitos por saber que o Vidago Palace continua a guardar boas memórias para si.
O carácter histórico do edifício traz consigo uma arquitetura muito própria, também na configuração e dimensão dos quartos, preservada como parte da identidade singular do Palace.

Well worth the trip - don't hesitate!
The Vidago Palace Hotel... those few words conjure up a zen-like peace and I can recite them to myself in the office and feel instant calm descend upon me. I visited in July 2026 with my wife and two teenage daughters. We drove pretty much the entire length of Portugal - from the Algarve - so I was praying that the reservation I made months before would measure up. The arrival in Vidago didn't really give us much to go on, until we turned onto a beautifully-paved boulevard that led to the gated entrance to the hotel. The view that met us blew us away - the pink hotel stood there in all its grandeur. The staff appeared as if out of thin air to whisk away our bags and our car, leaving us to soak in the atmosphere. Our rooms were cool, quiet and wonderfully appointed with robes, slippers, cold water... local wines.
We decided to dine in the bar our first night. The service was fantastic - friendly and yet professional at the same time. The food was delicious - charcuterie and local white port eased our tensions from the road. The next day the family enjoyed the pool and the spa. Again the service appeared effortless, meeting our every wish, but never hovering, hardly a question passed between us - they knew what we wanted before the words left our mouths. My wife said it was "the best massage I've ever had." That's high praise not to be take lightly.
Interestingly we talk about returning to Porto and some of the vineyards in the Douro River Valley and every time my wife says "do you think we could fit in a couple days in Vidago?" Yes, of course... not even a question.
We decided to dine in the bar our first night. The service was fantastic - friendly and yet professional at the same time. The food was delicious - charcuterie and local white port eased our tensions from the road. The next day the family enjoyed the pool and the spa. Again the service appeared effortless, meeting our every wish, but never hovering, hardly a question passed between us - they knew what we wanted before the words left our mouths.
