Despite great potential: unfortunately never again because of the hotel manager
Unfortunately, our overall impression was greatly clouded by the behavior of the hotel manager. Several indications on our part that the outdoor infinity pool in January with 29 degrees was clearly too cold for a wellness pool were repeatedly rejected by the hotel manager. Instead of responding to our feedback, she reacted righteously and ignored several contacts. Other guests did not use the infinity pool, which was touted as a showpiece, as the water was also perceived as too cold.
We deliberately wanted to make our criticisms before a public review to give the hotel the opportunity to react. Unfortunately, this too was without a constructive response. In addition, silverfish in the bath and in the lounge area were dismissed with the statement that “this is just the way it is in winter”.
Very sad, because we were a group of ten people and would have loved to recommend the hotel due to the pool area and the staff. With this hotel management, however, this is unfortunately not possible for us.

A place to feel good – great staff, fantastic location & rooftop pool
The rooms are modern, cozy and very clean – many with fantastic mountain views. The breakfast is rich and high quality, the dinner varied and at a very high level.
A real highlight is the rooftop pool: With views of the surrounding peaks, you can relax here – a real experience, especially after an active day in the mountains!
We would particularly like to highlight the incredibly friendly and dedicated staff. From the reception to the service – everyone was always attentive, helpful and with honest warmth. You can feel that genuine hospitality is lived here. This made our stay special.
The location of the hotel is also ideal: quiet but still central, with direct access to hiking trails, bus stop in front of the house and close to the lifts.
Conclusion: A perfect place to unwind, enjoy and feel good. We are guaranteed to come back and recommend the Sonnenburg without restriction!
