good place in Bregenz

old building designed and run with a lot of charm and heart, it couldn't be more central, very clean, good breakfast, nice Lüt, sensational prices for central location Bregenz, good organization, uncomplicated handling, everything you need, gladly again

Central location, simple guesthouse

Pension Sonne. Very centrally located in pedestrian zone, therefore quite quiet from the outside. On the inside, it's more ring-shaped. Access with code. You have to get keys in the kebab shop next door. On the ground floor it has a bicycle storage room. Single room with breakfast Euro 104.-
No elevator. 4 floors. WC, shower on different Floors. Everything very simply furnished. Clean.

Staff not on site, flood of plastic at breakfast

First of all, you have to be there by 6 p.m., otherwise you will be charged an extra fee. I assumed that someone would be there by 6 p.m., but that wasn't the case. I was later told that this was not usual for a bed and breakfast, strange...
Then I didn't know that the code was sent by email, which is not possible with my mobile phone. When I finally got to the house, someone else had taken the key that was apparently intended for me. A business without staff present and without informing the guest about the situation in a timely and unambiguous manner - that is a difficult matter...
At breakfast the next morning, I pointed out to the landlord that unfortunately butter, jam, honey are all offered in tiny packages, which is not environmentally friendly and no longer up to date.
The answer was simple and straightforward: There is no other way, 20 hotels in Bregenz would do it that way.
I was traveling in Austria for a total of 4 weeks and very few accommodations produced so much plastic waste.
Conclusion: Where there is no will, there is no way.....
If you want to travel sustainably and have breakfast, you should look for somewhere else to stay....

Perfect location

The rooms were as expected - simple but clean, extremely well-located and with very good internet. The sink in our room did not have hot water, but otherwise we were very comfortable.
Bregenz is always a wonderful place to visit, but especially in summer. And even more so if you like pizza and icecream! We chose this location because of its central location with good bus, ferry and train connections.

Bizarre & aging decor, grossly over priced

Good location and friendly staff however the place felt like it was last decorated 30 years ago, bed uncomfortable, lighting system buzzed... most bizarrely there were 2 washing machines in the bathroom which looked out of the ark... The sound proofing was terrible and could clearly hear people clanking around at 4am. If the cost was half as much I wouldn't have minded but the cost for one night was extortion, don't know how the receptionist kept a straight face as she counted the cash... possibly expensive as we went in August but even so....Avoid unless you get a cheap offer
