Holidays at the Sperlhof are like coming home
The inconspicuous and courteous service from the apprentice, who is only on duty for a few days, up to the hotel management reflects the appreciative treatment of the hotel guests.
From the toddler with his parents, the couple in love looking for undisturbedness, to our less mobile senior citizens, you don't feel like a hotel guest but part of a large family.
Anyone who attaches defects or underuse here is looking for the “needle in a haystack” in vain and probably misses similar excellent hotels as well!
The friendly hotel room, the extremely warm indoor and outdoor pool, the catering which naturally also includes vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, etc., the well-kept quiet wellness areas where you can retire undisturbed, the separate areas for children's entertainment, the leisure facilities with bus shuttle to 2 top ski areas, the wonderfully clear air for hiking, the many small attentions,.... you should not write so well and a lot about the hotel ambience that gets under your skin as a frequent hotel guest, otherwise the house is overbooked and you/woman will then not get a room anymore

Nice hotel, disappointing service.
We gifted this stay to my sister for her 30th birthday. We had been looking forward to it for months. Thus, our visit was all the more disappointing.
For one night, we paid a total of 800 euros. At this price, one should expect that at least the basic processes and service function properly. Unfortunately, that was not the case during our stay.
Already at check-in, they asked about vegetarian meal preferences, which we indicated accordingly. At dinner, I additionally pointed out that I am a vegetarian. The waitress confirmed this as well. Nevertheless, I received beef soup as an appetizer and then asparagus with ham. When I pointed out that not a single dish had been vegetarian so far, I was merely told that they would inform the kitchen. An apology or any form of response was absent.
Particularly disappointing was also the situation surrounding my sister's massage. This was booked months in advance and was canceled at short notice because the masseuse was allegedly sick. There was no alternative appointment or solution offered. Especially for a birthday gift, this is particularly frustrating.
At breakfast, we wanted to sit outside due to the beautiful weather. However, the tables from the previous day had not been cleaned. Not a single table was usable. Only upon inquiry was a table cleaned for us, while all the others remained dirty.
By the afternoon snack, the salad buffet was nearly empty about 20 minutes after opening. Despite inquiries, nothing was refilled. Additionally, the warm dishes were not labeled, making it unclear for me as a vegetarian which dishes were suitable for me. In response to my inquiry about a sauce, I initially received the answer: "Good question." After several minutes, the staff member returned from the kitchen, tapped his finger in the sauce or on the plate by the ladle, licked it off, and then explained that it was cheese sauce. I found this behavior to be extremely unprofessional and hygienically questionable.
At check-out, there was no inquiry about how our stay was or if everything was satisfactory. We paid and left. Only when we were already at the door did a quiet "Goodbye" come from the reception.
These are just a few of the points that characterized our stay. Overall, we had the impression that there was a lack of attention, organization, and willingness to serve. For a wellness hotel in this price range, this is unacceptable for us. Instead of returning home relaxed and satisfied, we were ultimately just glad to be back home.

Disappointment
We had booked for a duration of 7 days
For personal reasons, we had to leave 2 days early on Friday morning instead of Sunday morning as planned
No commercial gesture from the management
We have been coming to this hotel for the senior skate week for 5 years
A small gesture, even minimal, would have been appreciated on our part

Superb stay in amazing location for very reasonable price.
An unforgettable alpine escape – pure Austrian hospitality at its best!
We spent a few wonderful days at Hotel Sperlhof and already know we’ll be back. This is the kind of place that exceeds expectations in every way.
The view from most rooms? Simply breathtaking. Waking up to snow-capped peaks and rolling green hills is the kind of magic you don’t forget.
The wellness area? Outstanding. Warm indoor and outdoor pools, peaceful relaxation zones, and hidden saunas with panoramic views of the deer reserve – a true retreat for the body and soul.
Families will love it here too – there’s a large playground, trampoline, and even a mini track with ride-on toys for the little ones.
And then there’s the food… oh, the food! A lavish breakfast buffet with freshly made smoothies and a juicer station (all included), and the legendary afternoon snack buffet from 2 to 5 pm – hot dishes, amazing cakes, pastries and fruit. It felt more like a dessert heaven than a snack.
The surrounding area offers easy access to the charming town of Windischgarsten and panoramic views from the Wurbauerkogel tower. We also loved our visit to the beautiful baroque monastery in Spital am Pyhrn and the crystal-clear Gleinkersee – just a short drive away.
We felt truly welcome and spoiled from the moment we arrived – from the friendly staff to the thoughtful Easter treats waiting for us at breakfast.
If you’re looking for a place to relax, recharge, and be surrounded by nature, Sperlhof is the perfect choice. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

Brilliant Matura meeting after 40 years at the Sperlhof
Hotel Sperlhof is always worth a stay. Since I know the hotel and the surrounding area well through my fasting seminars I can recommend it for all sports activities. The spa is top, as is the food.
Very friendly staff are available for all needs, a top run family hotel.
Most recently, we spent our 40th anniversary at the Hotel Sperlhof on several days. It was so nice to be there again and to be pampered. DANKE
