Charming country hotel with great wine rarities, excellent food and very good transport links to Vienna

The food was very tasty. We were impressed by the very courteous and helpful staff. Two beautiful winter gardens, a romantic country hotel with a certain charm.
Dogs are very welcome, and children too. The hotel we visited is right in the heart of Guntramsdorf and we were very impressed with the many rare wines. The Badnerbahn, which is diagonally opposite the hotel, is also a great plus point if you want to get to Vienna in just a few minutes.

Hated every second.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would, but I suppose you have to give them the 1 star for the bed. When I arrived, the attendant was abrupt and indifferent, and after a long day of travelling I trudged my luggage up to my room by myself while he watched me. The hotel is pretty ancient with archaic amenities, and so the room was freezing and I had to make do with extra blankets. Hospitality was completely lacking as everyone either looked on with slack jawed indifference, or with ambivalent hostility. Wi-Fi was virtually non-existent. The receptionist was abrupt and dismissive, borderline rude. Need I keep going? It was awful and I hated every second. Was so relieved to be out of there after a few miserable days.

A warm quaint place

The first thing that hits you in this warm and cozy B&B hotel is the warmth from the staff. Owners are at the desk working and helping the guests. Being an old property, it carries with it the legacy of the place and the culture.
It was my first time in Austria and got all the help from the reception on the train timing, maps and shopping areas in Vienna. The station is just 2 minutes walking distance away.
The food is excellent (both in taste and presentation).
Improvements:
1. No specific smoking area, you can see people smoking inside the hotel premises. This may prove a bit choking for non-smokers.
2. Rooms can get a makeover as the furniture and look etc is quite old.
3. Wifi to my room was pretty slow.
4. The breakfast may have a larger spread
5. Management can provide more toiletries in the bathroom

Austrian courtesy and charm

We were visiting friends who live in GuntramsdorF and the location was great.
Disappointed that there was not a no smoking policy in hotel. This meant we did not linger for drinks in the lounge bar. Astonished in fact that smoking is permissible in public indoor areas. The restaurant was excellent as were wines and staff.i

solid local cuisine

we went there for a big celebration and where impressed by the sheer size of this complex
there is a hotel and a very spacious restaurant
it is perfectly suited for occasions like weddings or parties.if you drink too much or are too tired to go on take one of the nice rooms
the restaurant offers solid but not especially sophisticated meals
