The Gannerhof - Refuge for pleasure and nature

Enjoyment has so many facets at Gannerhof: Be it the excellent bonnet cuisine, the quaint artistic ambience, the exceptional service or the herb-rich natural garden. The front door to the room with sheep wool mattresses jams, the cat drops by the room and the morning sun shines directly into the blossom-white linen. Bertl, the perfectionist waiter, serves with style and dry humor - this is also a treat!

Tradition or novelty?

There you go because the place is beautiful, but especially for dinner. Exquisite cuisine, as already tried before. The only flaw is the second fish that not everyone likes. In any case I ate one of the best trout ever tasted in my life (I am almost 70 years old and the son of a passionate trout fisherman). I would have liked a barley soup as an alternative but I must admit that the chef is really good even in a less traditional cuisine

Idyllic 3 star hotel with limited breakfast offer

The 3-star Hotel Gannerhof is particularly impressive due to its idyllic location in the Villgratental valley in East Tyrol: a hotel that is already showing its age but is certainly charming with simple and functional furnishings, apart from the hairdryer. Vegetarians are warned by phone that only local products are used in the kitchen and that guests will search in vain for orange juice at the breakfast buffet, but are then surprised to discover that olives, mandarins or canned apple compote do not grow in our latitudes either. When we asked whether warm porridge/millet/buckwheat etc. would be possible as a warm alternative in the morning, the manager replied with a very firm "no" and made no attempt to present any solution. The only explanation given to the guest is a half-hearted comment from the manager about the extensive breakfast buffets in other hotels and that this would "spoil" the guests. AND the breakfast is really manageable and not very varied. POSITIVELY worth mentioning is the culinary sophisticated and extremely tasty evening meal, which is also served by very friendly service staff. The barn sauna also gives guests the opportunity to recover and relax from the aches and pains of the morning's ski tour. All in all: a 3-star hotel with culinary sophisticated evening meals, friendly service staff, but a poor breakfast selection and simple, albeit charming, rooms.

Very nice, family-run farm

Very nicely located hotel in East Tyrol.
Service is extremely friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and the rooms very nice (mostly wood with modern bathrooms).
The only wish:
The breakfast is quite limited and after two days it was a bit boring. There is even less choice for vegetarians or vegans. That shouldn't really be a problem these days.
