Good hotel for motorcyclists.

Excellent hotel with nice rooms. We had booked half board and that turned out to be a hit. We could just choose from the map. Enough choice to eat something different every day. Friendly staff, friendly staff. The presence of a covered parking for the motorbikes is also an advantage.

Very good food with top price/performance

We were very nicely received in this place. The young waitress was extremely friendly.
The selected food was of very good quality. Taste, portion size and price were top.
We are happy to recommend the restaurant

Great address also for groups

The Kirchenwirt Engl in Kötschach Mauthen is really a great address. Already at the reception I was greeted very friendly, which immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The food was excellent, the staff was attentive and accommodating. The food was consistently excellent – all dishes were delicious and freshly prepared. Especially impressive is the good Price quality ratio, because you really get quality at fair prices here. For a group of 48 people everything went smoothly, which made the stay even more pleasant. Overall, I can only recommend the Kirchenwirt Engl and will certainly come back!

Disappointing

After spending a nice holiday in this house a few years ago and being very satisfied with the quality of the food, we stopped by for dinner on our way through! Unfortunately, that was very disappointing! We were 3 people and had ordered two Viennese schnitzel with mixed salad and a vegetable plate! The salad was served immediately and we waited for the other food! After 40 minutes of waiting, we once asked if it would be long? It was then exactly 45 minutes after the order (the salads had already wilted in the meantime) that we were served the food! Despite the long wait, no excuse, just the announcement from the waitress: “we just have a lot to do”! After that the big disappointment about the quality of the food, the Viennese schnitzel were not salted and the vegetable plate was just frozen mixed vegetables! Then there's the unnecessary discussion with the waitress (we don't have unsalted schnitzels)!
We were more than disappointed, because something like this simply must not happen and if something really should happen then an apology would be more appropriate than a pointless discussion!

Terrific

Delicious food and very friendly service in a rustic atmosphere! Special requests were dealt with very understandingly and implemented exactly. The price-performance ratio is excellent. A menu is offered every day, which is unbeatable in terms of price. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience!
