Austria Classic Hotel Wolfinger sídlí v historické budově z 15. století na hlavním náměstí v historickém centru Lince. Wi-Fi je dostupné zdarma. Většina pokojů je zařízená v biedermeierovském stylu.

Very pleasant *** house
About once or twice a year I come back to my old hometown Linz and find a hotel to stay here.
This time our choice fell for the first time on the Hotel Wolfinger, directly on Linz's main square. It doesn't really get more central. The tram is a few meters away, the old town and the Landestheater are maybe five or six minutes on foot. Basically, all the main sights of the city center are within easy walking distance.
When making a reservation by phone, there was information that you could drive directly to the hotel to unload your luggage – the hotel was able to obtain an exemption for its guests.
The reception is then a few steps up.
Extremely friendly reception and also the information that you can park as a hotel guest at a reduced price in the large parking garage, which is directly below the main square. The reception is staffed 24 hours a day.
The rooms are pleasant and individually furnished, well maintained, with modern bathrooms (hair dryer, cosmetic towels, shower cap). Ample shelves, neat mattresses. Some of the rooms are located along the elongated building towards the old town in the typical rear building corresponding to the time. Again over a few steps high, but very quiet. At the front of the main house there is a lift from the reception to reach the upper floors. In the summer, with open windows, it will certainly be a little louder there, because many schanig gardens will open at the main square. But you have a beautiful view of the huge square and the Holy Trinity column.
Next to the reception is the spacious breakfast room. Again with ravishing views directly to the main square. The breakfast plays all the pieces and makes some 4-star house look quite old. Currently even with the opportunity to squeeze yourself a glass of fresh juice. Filter coffee, as well as another coffee machine that allows all sorts of other coffee specialties. Many types of tea, fresh pastries etc. Everything is there that makes a decent breakfast.
Next to the reception there is a vending machine for drinks, somewhere there was also a shoe shine machine. There is no restaurant (anymore), but there are countless restaurants of all possible provenance for every budget at the main square and in the adjacent old town.
I generally find the facility beautiful – we were housed in the back, which is “only” 250 years old. The house was built in the 17th century. First mentioned in the 19th century, and there are many delightful architectural details found only in buildings from this period – attention has obviously been paid to preserving the baroque charm of the complex. Imposing granite columns, delicate wrought iron railings, massive stone slabs on the floor.
We found the price-performance ratio quite excellent, we liked it very much, and we will in future give the Hotel Wolfinger priority over the previously frequented chain hotels.

This is an awesome place, right on the main square, in an old, well-maintained building. The wifi was the only thing that did not work; make sure you are in a room that can access it, the connection situation will not improve.

Great location, but disappointing service, misleading information, and poor accessibility made the stay unpleasant
The hotel’s location is very central, which is convenient. However, arriving by car is quite challenging because the hotel is located on a street with restricted vehicle access.
The building is historic, so there is no elevator to the reception, which is located on the first floor. Carrying luggage up the stairs is difficult, especially if you have heavy bags.
Unfortunately, some of the information provided when I booked the room was inaccurate. The listing mentioned free Wi-Fi, but the internet connection was very poor. It also stated that parking was available for an additional fee and highlighted an excellent breakfast. However, when we arrived, we were told that breakfast was not included and would cost €19 per person, which felt quite expensive.
Our arrival experience was also disappointing. Oliver, who was working at reception when we checked in, came across as unfriendly and arrogant, making us feel unwelcome.
If you’re traveling by public transport and have little or no luggage, this hotel may be suitable. Otherwise, especially if you’re arriving by car or carrying several bags, I would recommend choosing a different hotel.

Perfect hotel in the center.
We were there in June and can only recommend the hotel. The location in the center is fantastic. The house is historic but has been carefully adapted to modern times. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is plentiful. Parking in the nearby public underground garage is optimal. We would gladly come back!

There was no elevator from front door to the reception. If any lift there, it was easier to carry our baggages
