Every year again

Always an experience. The renovated old wall. The amazingly large and lovingly designed rooms. The sensational value for money. The warm service. The very good cuisine. Recommended.

Converted monastery, very nicely renovated, very good restaurant, great and clean rooms, very nice breakfast

Very tidy inn, very clean and very service oriented. We stayed here one night in transit to Lake Garda. After checking in Tomasz even helped us unload the luggage and everyone was very helpful.
Afterwards we had a great dinner (about 70€ for entrecôte, risotto, two water & beer) with very high quality ingredients and very good meat. Absolutely good value for money. The breakfast was delicious and on request there are various egg dishes. Especially super is the Sieve Carrier Café Machine with which you start the day immediately asleep.
All in all highly recommended and why there are so few recommendations here on Tripadvisor is not understandable. We will definitely make our stops here in the future on our trips to Lake Garda on the way back and forth. Another word about the building, it is a converted and renovated monastery and quite excellently renovated.

The Mellaunerhof is one of the oldest inns in Tyrol. The first documented mention of it as an inn dates back to 1110. This is the right place for anyone who enjoys high quality regional cuisine in a special ambience. The inn has several very different parlors, an extraordinary wine cellar and even a knight's hall. The owners and staff are very friendly. Be sure to try the „Zwiebelrostbraten“! - I‘d say, the best I‘ve ever had and definitely a signature dish of the Mellaunerhof.

Disappointing

For a gourmet restaurant, I expected a little more service and loving details.
The location itself is very nice, but could score even more points with more loving details when setting the table.
The table ambience appears cold and uncreative.
We were very surprised by the composition and the price-performance ratio of the spreads.
3 spreads for 1 person with a whopping three-quarter roll (!) for the unbelievable price of 9 euros.
I would actually say that's outrageous, since normally the greeting from the kitchen with a spread is served with a few more bread varieties.
The food (main courses made of meat) was very good.
After informing us about the meager amount and variety of bread in the spreads, this was received with a shrug and no further comment, first by the waiter and then by the manager. At least a small compensation could have been offered, such as a coffee or digestif.
I would say that for an evening where you spend almost 300 euros, criticism should be dealt with a little more appreciatively.
