Lovely family friendly Pension, great location
On a 3rd visit to Schladming I stayed for 6 nights in the Mitterwallner’s cosy but spacious small hotel with my 2 kids. We had a spacious double room with sofa bed that was as good as a single bed. The bathroom was nice and functional, the shower great. On arrival we had a warm welcome from the owners. Each morning we enjoyed a healthy continental breakfast with fresh coffee, hot choc for the kids and lots of choice of juices, all offered with a smile.
If you are looking for a comfortable, warm, clean and pretty Alpine style Pension with welcoming friendly owners then I fully recommend this place.
As for location, we found it perfect for skiing the Reiteralm mountain. It is virtually ski in and out, with just a 50 metre walk to put your skis on and ski down another 100 metres to the main Silverjet gondola taking you up to the main action point of Reiteralm in 5 mins. Also having stayed before in lovely Rohrmoos and ski’d mostly Hochwurzen and Planai, I found Reiteralm is actually the better mountain for varied challenging reds. We also ski’d over to Hochwurzen fairly easily one day and on other days had skiing on Reiteralm in the mornings and then drove to Rohrmoos for Hochwurzen in the afternoon.
The only limitation of the location in our view was the lack of a bar or pub serving food in the evenings. There are 3-4 restaurants but they seemed a bit quiet/lacking atmosphere for us so after one disappointing dinner in the Bruner restaurant next door on other evenings we drove the 10 mins to Schladming or 15 mins to Rohrmoos where we love the Jagerstuble pub for simple food or the excellent Braunhoffer family restaurant serving delicious healthy Austrian food.
All in all we had a fantastic stay at Pension Mitterwallner and I could not fault it. We will be back! I would especially choose it for a short break as it’s 10 mins closer to the airport in Salzburg, making it a 50 mins transfer which is unbeatable in my view. Finally we found the runs on Reiteralm quieter than Hochwurzen and Planai.

Good location for skiing
Spent there one week with family in Feb. Good location of the house, just 100m from Silver Jet station but in reality you can pass parking place and then go down on you ski to the station. In return way it is just 50-70 m from the slope.
The house is not new and very basic inside. It is clean and warm. Breakfast ok. Friendly hosts. Very basic room and bathroom. Ski room below expectation and average standard. If your focus is just skiing from 6 till 4/4.30 pm that is fine. Average price level vs standard. Some restaurants near by. And very good and proffesional Intersport store with ski service and rental. 7km to Schladming center.
...one of the best ski slope, to SIlver Jet station, in the region, night skiing available ... that is the best of this place :) !!!

Kurz Urlaub
Nach einige kurzen Aufenthalten war ich dieses Mal 4 Tage hier da ich ansonsten nur meist eine Übernachtung gemacht habe da ich am nächsten Tag wieder beruflich im Betrieb sein musste . Nachdem ich mir ein paar Tage frei genommen hatte um bei der Taufpatin meiner Tochter zu Verbringen . Die Taufpatin meiner Tochter fährt seit über 50 Jahre in die Pension Mitterwallner . Der Betrieb wird mit großen Einsatz geführt . Das reichhaltige Frühstücksbüffet lässt keine Wünsche über . Einfach nur zu empfehlen mit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ach ja man bekommt bei seinen Aufenthalt auch die Sommercard mit der einige Ausflugsziele gratis oder gegen geringe auf preis dabei sind .

Familiär geführte Pension
Direkt an der Schipiste, das bedeutet für uns, dass man 50 Meter auch zu Fuß gehen kann, liegt diese liebe Pension mit einem guten Frühstücksbuffet, netten Gastgebern und eben unschlagbarer Lage. Die Verpflegung rundum gestaltet sich etwas schwierig, da in der Hochsaison wirklich alles reserviert ist, aber die unmittelbare Nähe zur Gondel, die sauberen Zimmer und auch die Gastfreundschaft gefallen uns so gut, dass wir gerne wieder kommen.
Wenn uns Freunde fragen, ob wir auch wellnessen im Urlaub oder wieviele Sterne unsere Unterkunft habe, dann schütteln wir den Kopf, denn wir wollen Schifahren und das kann man bei den Mitterwallners sehr gut!
