A great hotel and with one of the best in the mountains

Hotel Schalber is really a great place for skiing, wellness and enjoyment. Since I traveled alone I was offered a single room, which nevertheless offered a decent size and above all a fantastic view to the south. No dark broom closet in the basement. The hotel boasts a large spa area with various saunas and steam rooms. Certainly you need something to guide you on the first day, but there is something for everyone here. Thus, the basic parameters for 5 stars have already been met, since this is a purely fact-based categorization.
But then what makes the hotel a real 5-star hotel (superior) as you would like it to be? It is the distinctly authentic and great service. Whether at the reception, in the wellness area or restaurant. Everywhere you are given the feeling of genuine hospitality. And certainly the owners really live up to that. The service at the table was with the best I have enjoyed in recent years. Great wines, good advice, many really exceptionally well prepared dishes. An unobtrusive yet present service...always with an absolute friendliness, yet without seeming put on.
I really enjoyed the week. A great house, which can really compete with the best in Austria. I will definitely come back, because the Schalber in combination with Serfaus as a car-free place, which I find great anyway with its ski area, makes a ski week wonderfully enjoyable. Thanks for all the effort and see you next time.

Let’s yourself be spoil.

A wonderful hotel that welcomes people of all ages. We have stayed at this establishment on four separate occasions, and each time we have been met with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and, most importantly, a sense of belonging to a large family. The spa features spacious rooms, both indoor and outdoor natural pools, and a kid-friendly family spa. Everything is immaculate. Private spa, two hours in a paradise location. Please try it!! Sensational food, very well presented, which is also a pleasure just to look at. A hotel that has 5 superior stars but should be a 7 stars.

The more often - the better - always happy to come back!

We stayed at the Hotel Schalber again over Christmas week 2025.
Everything is just right here. With the huge super well-kept wellness area, the house more than lives up to its attribute "wellness residence" in the name. Everything is as always, but at this time especially tastefully decorated, you feel - especially important at Christmas - at home. On Christmas Eve, the senior, Mr. Schalber, and his family recited the Christmas story, accompanied by a wind ensemble.
All very familiar and atmospheric. In the various restaurant areas, which are very comfortably designed in alpine style, comes the next Hi-Lite with real gourmet catering. There are no wishes left unfulfilled. The wine list is a real "wine book" and fairly priced for such a house.
But the crown is still put on by the very friendly, approachable and hardworking staff:inside and that runs through all areas .
Even at this time in high speed, there were hardly any waiting times.
Our suite (split level) with dream view to the south was very cozy, a double room for single use for our son also . However, in the course of an already carried out renovation in the suite, I would have liked a textile floor instead of parquet - but that's just a matter of taste.
Last but not least : the location of the house at the entrance of Serfaus is very pleasant. From the subway, which takes guests in a short cycle to the mountain railways, you are only a few steps away.
With so much good experience we are already looking forward to the next opportunity to come to Serfaus in the Schalber !

A Relaxing Family place to go

We enjoyed a terrific week as a family; our time with the grandchildren was incredible, and the hotel's attention to detail and different offerings for kids and youngsters were exceptional. The family spa allows parents and their children to feel at ease and have fun, so both parents and grandparents had a good time. We returned home pleased, eager to return for very soon.
