ideal base for Salzkammergut visit
Set back from the main road, with magnificent views & a short walk to the lake, I can thoroughly recommend this friendly accommodation. I had a small(ish) holiday flat that would have been perfect for a couple too. It was very well equipped and quiet, and spotlessly clean. The owner managed to get the right balance of keeping her distance, and yet being helpful when needed. I liked it very much; my first chance to explore the Salzkammergut more thoroughly.

A small and affordable b&b with very friendly staff, location not great in summer without car
We were here during the summer months for hiking and the location was not ideal for that. If you are there for skiing holiday you will be very close to a lift up the mountain but we needed to get to the center of town every day which was a 20 minutes walk away, if not further.
The rooms were clean but needed upgrading. Furniture and room in general was rather old but for the price you pay I did not expect anything different.
Breakfast was included and it was really great. We got different types of breads, meat, eggs, cheese and vegetables. The owner of the place served us breakfast and talked with us every day about our plans and we got as much refill on everything as we wanted. She also asked us the first day if there is something in particular we wish for breakfast, which was a nice gesture.
I would consider staying here again if I go to Werfenweng in winter, for summer months be aware of the walking to the town. If the weather is great it might not be a problem but we had rain during the whole time which made things less comfortable.
Note: we travelled without car and used the mobility card offered by the municipality, it worked perfect and we got picked up at the train station in Bischofshofen and could rent a car in city center for the days we needed it.
The pros of this place is definetly the hospitality of the owner (not sure if it was really the owner, but I think she was at least part of the family owning it) and the nice breakfast.

Loved it!
3 rather mature ladies spent an idylic 10 days in july 2013 here. We stayed in an immacualte 'family room' (one large room, one small single plus bathrooom and balcony) for bed & breakfast and could not fault it. The accomodation was certainly simple but spotlessly clean. Our host could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was generous - cereal, fruit, rolls and cold meats and cheese. We hope to return in 2014, but this time will try and stay in one of the Haus Regina apartments where we would have a kitchen as well. The only thing I would suggest is that a kettle and mugs woujld have been appreciated. However, as we had taken our own, this did not bother us! Hause Regina is on the main road, 20 minutes walk from the Wolfgangsee and with a bus stop and supermarket less than 5 minutes walk.

Not a real pension
We stayed there for Chrismas and New years eve 2012.
The apartment looks great, very comfortable, the owner is very polite and helpful but ...
You get absolutely so services at all. The room is not cleaned, they do not even take the garbage. More annoying is that there is no place where you can deposit that garbage - so we choosed the balcony.
They do have a breakfast room, but they do not bother providing one, even if we asked for it.
Abersee is middle of nowhere, nothing to do around, there are only few houses around, each of them having a farm with powerfull dejection smell.
There is one restaurant cross the street, not good, not bad. And that is all. There is a shop 200 maters away, but you won't find much. Then next shop is 4 kms away.
So i would not recommend it unless you want to feel like home: clean and cook.
