A Deeply Disappointing Group Experience — We Will Not Return
Our group of 46 guests stayed at Hotel Schani UNO City for two nights, from 14 to 16 August 2026. Despite booking several months in advance and submitting the complete rooming list approximately three weeks before arrival, the hotel appeared inadequately prepared for our group.
When we arrived, only one staff member was available at reception to manage the check-in of 46 guests.
The most disappointing issue was the location of our rooms. Instead of being accommodated in the main hotel building, our guests had to leave the building, walk outside for several hundred metres, and stay in separate buildings within the hotel complex. After making the reservation months in advance, this arrangement was extremely upsetting and inconvenient. It left me, as the group organiser, with the uncomfortable impression that our group was being treated as second-class guests.
The rooms were modern in appearance, but they did not even contain chairs, which we found surprising and impractical.
The breakfast did not correspond with the highly positive reviews we had seen on Booking.com. In our experience, its quality and variety were below “good” and could only be described as average.
The breakfast procedure was also unpleasant. While guests were selecting or eating their food, an employee approached them and asked for their room numbers to check whether they were entitled to breakfast. This should have been handled discreetly at the entrance before guests entered the breakfast room—not while they were collecting food or eating. When I questioned this procedure, I was simply told that this was how the hotel operated. There also appeared to be only one employee responsible for the entire breakfast area.
As a tour operator and professional tourist guide who has stayed at hundreds of hotels, both individually and with groups, I consider this one of our most disappointing hotel experiences. In my opinion, the hotel was understaffed, poorly organised for group accommodation, and lacking the professionalism we reasonably expected.
This was our first group stay at Hotel Schani UNO City, and it was also our last. We will not stay here again, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to groups, tour operators, or individual travellers.
I also hope the management will respond to these specific concerns directly rather than posting the same generic reply commonly seen beneath negative reviews.

Great place to stay, very modern and it is relatively close to the train station. I didn't have a chance to visit the bar or the restaurant but it looked great

Viennese week
For our annual summer vacation in Vienna we chose this hotel. A very spot-on choice: 5 minutes walk from the subway with which to visit the whole city and from the bus stop for the airport, TV in the room with reception of Italian channels (Rai, etc.), impeccable service, continental breakfast, the cleanliness of the rooms is to be praised, presence of a restaurant and also parking. To be recommended and definitely returned to.
