A charming family run hotel, designed like a little village.

This was our third visit to Astypalia & first visit to Castellano Village Hotel and really enjoyed our 9 nights.
The hotel is run by Nikos and his wife Christina and family, they were very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was large with a great view of the bay and spotlessly clean, with room service on a daily basis.
Although the hotel is on the hillside next to the airport, this wasn’t a problem as there are only two small plane flights a day ( more or less).
Maltezana beach is a five minute drive, most guests walked down a hillside track ( take a torch for your return in the dark) there are a few good tavernas here and in the next little bay.
The Chora is 15/20 minutes to drive, there is a local bus stop nearby too.
We discovered Plakes beach, only 10 minutes to walk, with a Little Rock climbing at the end, a great place to snorkel.
Breakfast was simple but good, the homemade apple pie being a big favourite.
Already planning to return next summer.

Super positive experience!

Excellent 3 star located in a strategic area in Astipalea. Great Welcoming, with welcome briefing, during which we received great suggestions for "secret" beaches and taverns in the area. Structure in typical island style, with beautiful panoramic swimming pool. The pool bar, open from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00, offers cocktails, salads and snacks. Careful and good barman.
Cleanliness is excellent both in the common areas and inside the rooms. Excellent breakfast with quality products, perhaps still improveable if homemade cakes were present every morning.
Here we found professionalism and courtesy from all the staff, thank you all for making our stay in Astipalaia better!

Astypalea

Exactly what I expected, convenient location, a sensational view of the bay thanks to the full moon.
Nicholas and his family kind, prepared and always available.
Clean rooms, towels change every two days,
excellent and varied breakfast to recommend absolutely.
Car rental allows us to move with agility
Do not miss the islands Kounoupa and Koutsomitis crystal clear sea you get there by renting Gulet or other means

When the heart takes you to the right place...

I was very happy with Castellano's choice, because Chora although beautiful, is always too animated for my taste and it's much warmer. Castellano Village is PERFECT! I also enjoyed spending time there. It is evident in the details that these are tourism entrepreneurs, they are impeccable, I have not found any defect and you catch in addition to kindness, still the enthusiasm of those who do this work with professional intelligence, keeping so much heart; the structure is studied in detail, well maintained and maintained, spotless, breakfast with local products and finally with the slow pace of the island, the location is wonderful, cool, there is always a little wind, the view of the bay of Analipsi / Maltezana takes your breath away, silence is interrupted only by the bleating of goats or the chirping of birds, the rooms are spacious, full of comfortable details, all designed for the convenience of the traveler, is a few minutes walk from the bay and the premises. By car, in ten minutes you are in Chora.
People in Maltezana are relaxed because everything is human-sized, they smile at you and are helpful. I recommend the tour of the islets, wonderful sea, wind permitting, with the gulet of Captain Antonis in Maltezana.
I would sincerely like to return to Castellano, in my opinion it offers much more than the 3 stars on the map. I ended the holiday with a swim in the beautiful pool in front of the unforgettable view, waiting for the flight time and with gratitude to Nicholas who allowed us to stay until the last minute.
