Attentive and friendly staff.
Located about a half hour walk from Syntagma Square and about 15 minutes from the nearest metro stop. It has free underground parking, which usually has spaces available, making it a good option for staying when arriving by rental car and thus avoiding going further into the city. Spacious room and extraordinarily comfortable bed. We stayed twice during the same trip, and on the last occasion, we were able to enjoy one of the rooms with a balcony, which adds an extra touch. Abundant and varied breakfast. As a less favorable note, the elevators are old and small, and there are areas where it is noticeable that renovations have been made, but the building is old. In the first of the rooms we had, there was a slight smell of dampness in the hallway, as well as in the parking area. Next to the hotel, there are nightclubs, although they do not pose any disturbance or insecurity. In our case, it would be a likely option to repeat in case of a new visit to the city.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The reception staff were incredibly helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. We were really impressed by the breakfast selection, which offered a huge variety of delicious options to start the day.
The bar was well-equipped with a great atmosphere for an evening drink, and overall, everything about the hotel was top-notch. It was a great experience, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a seamless stay.

Exceptional Hospitality and Outstanding Service at Grand Athenaeum Hotel
We had a truly wonderful stay at Grand Athenaeum Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the overall service was consistently excellent.
A special mention goes to Giannis and Christos, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. They were exceptionally gentle, attentive, and always ready to assist with a genuine smile. Their professionalism and kindness really stood out and made us feel well taken care of throughout our stay.

Our hotel was changed which would have been fine but we were not notified ahead of time . I don’t know if this was the hotel’s fault or Expedia.
