Summer in the mountain...
Looking for the week of August 15 to spend our holidays somewhere in the mountains, we found the hostel Promenos ...from our first contact with the hostel manager, we felt like we knew each other for years. The polite Vanessa from the very first moment informed us about what the accommodation provided and what not, informed us that during that time it did not provide breakfast, however every morning had a coffee bar and a cake. He had even arranged a short distance from the hostel to have a discount for breakfast in a wonderful cafe.He also informed us that there was no TV, and as most accommodation did not have parking space, it was all clear...the nights would be eight so our questions many one and we would have two young children together...and yet he had the patience and always with the same kindness to answer us all, not omitting to give us instructions for the sights of the area.
The room is amazing and very well decorated, very clean since there was daily cleaning...
Even when some other tenants, created a mess and we complained, very kindly he observed them and seeing that the conditions of the accommodation were not respected he asked them to leave.
In addition to the beauty of this place, Vanessa managed to want to visit Dimitsana again and of course to stay somewhere else?
What's more nice to see young people love and invest in their country. Vanessa we look forward to fighting again...

Disappointing
Poorly maintained bathtub. Toilet glasses broken. But good bedding and room with charm.

Old world charm
The village is a maze of cobbled side streets and Stefanos, our host, was kind enough to meet us in the centre and escort us to a parking spot. From there a stiff walk through the backstreets took us to Proselinos guesthouse.
We were shown our room which was in keeping with the location… full of charm. Stone walls on 3 sides plus a feature fireplace which together with radiators are no doubt put to use in the winter. Natural wood panelled ceilings and floors added to the feeling of warmth. Lovely period furniture, tasteful decor, a desk, wardrobe and fairly comfortable bed. Doors and a window opened up to a patio shared by another room. I guess this could cause a noise issue if your neighbours stay up late talking ? The bathroom was small but fine with a spa bath and hand held shower.
A small fridge was positioned in a small inner lobby between our room and the room next door. Personally we would have preferred to have a fridge in our room. No air cond or fan and no tv although there is one in the lounge/ dining/ reception area. We had hoped for a balcony with a view but a glimpse of a mountain view could only be had from the patio previously described.
Breakfast was excellent and plentiful… thank you!
Nice coffee shops ( we visited the R4 all day espresso bar with a roof garden a few times)
A visit to the historic water mill close by is well worth it.
Altogether an enjoyable 2 night stay.

Very good value for cost!
It is an old house which was renovated and adapted to be a small hotel. No elevator.
The room was relatively small but well equipped. Our room had a small balcony which was nice. View from balcony is magnificent you see the surrounding mountains, the churches towers, and exposed to a peaceful place.
Breakfast was included and served in a magnificent living room. It was rich in content and tasty.
The owner is friendly and speaks several languages. He was very friendly in guiding us to a parking lot and to carry luggage.
Location - In the center of the village in a small relatively steep street. Its less than 200 steps to go from room to main street.
Access - this is problematic issue. You have to park your car in the public lot very close to the hotel, the owner assists us. I don't know if there are hotels inside the village which provide parking.
Very good value for cost!
