A beautiful hotel let down by their ridiculous pool policy.
The hotel is beautiful…very clean….great location..beautiful staff…amazing food …But , and this is a really big But….my issue was discussed with the lady at the reception and dismissed.Can you imagine staying at a hotel and you can’t get a sun bed around the beautiful pool because it’s being taken up by people that aren’t staying there! We met several couples that in one day took up eight sun beds and sneaked in their own drinks and food.So how do they get away with it….hire a car from the hotel… yup ! Or buy a portion of chips and a drink….free access…I appreciate it’s all about bums on seats…get as much money as you can….but not to the detriment of your residents…one couple said”I am staying at a local air b n b..with no pool so I come here,buy a brink and stay all day….

We had a wonderfull stay!
From the car rental at the airport - till the room and the personal service at the breakfast and the pool bar!
Rooms super clean, spacious! Breakfast ok and always something to choose from!
Kitchen and cocktails and mocktails wonderfull and super fresh!

Good experience
Overall positive experience. Good breakfast. Friendly staff
Something to Improve in Welcoming:
- the person at the reception greeted us saying it was not the reception but she only rented cars (there is also a car rental where there is reception) so we turned to look for where to ask for the room
- the room that had been confirmed to me to be a triple on the 3rd floor in fact would be a room on the ground floor (I had explicitly asked the reservation that it was not on the ground floor) and I would have to change the next day. In the end a triple on the second floor “appeared” for our friends
- the other room booked was exact: double on the Third party floor with a window on the street and one on the pool ... a bit noisy
Let’s say a bit of misunderstandings finally resolved

An excellent choice
A very nice experience in this well placed hotel between Phaestos and Matala. The rooms have an outmoded side but are impeccable, the pool is very tempting, and, above all, the restaurant is excellent, with finally real Cretan cuisine. Finally, the staff is friendly, and even francophone.

One of the BEST hotels in Crete!!
I can't understand why this hotel is only rated 2 stars! It deserves at least 3 stars, if not 4. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pillows are perfect—not too fluffy or too soft, which is a big deal for me. Our room had a fantastic view of the pool and a large balcony. The bathroom was a decent size, unlike many others that tend to be small. And the power shower? Absolutely loved it!
The location is ideal, just a 2-minute walk to the beach and nearby restaurants, which offer a great variety of fish, seafood, and meat dishes. Each room has a fridge, excellent air conditioning, and a smart TV. Breakfast includes fresh meats and cheese, or you can choose hot options like omelettes.
We enjoyed this hotel so much that we extended our stay by two nights. We initially planned to stay in Matala but found Kalamaki to be a hidden gem and one of our best discoveries ever. While Matala is nearby if you want to visit, we preferred the quieter, more relaxed atmosphere of Kalamaki. In my opinion, the beach here is much better. We might just make this our regular destination.
