Fabulous small hotel
Me and my friend stayed here on our girls trip. The hotel is fabulous, very small and authentic, the 2 hosts couldn’t of done more for us. The food was also very nice and priced fabulously. I was really sceptical about booking as the price was so low and there was no reviews but honestly this is an amazing hotel which is great value for money

Grumpiest man in the world!!!
SafferCraig’s review is inspired! Read it for entertainment value if nothing else. I cant say that my stay was as bad as his description, but I have never met a grumpier host anywhere!
Very little English is spoken here. The answers to simple, polite questions were grunts or off handed gestures. Any request for a towel or the checkout time or information was met with a look as though we had asked for his first born! Deeply, deeply disengaged and rude. I asked for a beer and got a soda water, I pointed to beer on the menu (Sol) and got a Greek one instead and a look like I’d assaulted his wife.
The rooms are ok, basic and tired with the smallest shower I’ve ever been in. Less than a metre square and hard to wash yourself. The shower curtain sticks to you as you can’t get away from it! There was one half used and one full bottle of shower gel. There were not replaced during my 3 nights. 2 soaps provided too but no other amenities.
The rooms were clean, the beds hard (which I like) but the lumps in the pillow were like the rocks of Delos.
Breakfast is appalling. Just appalling.
What is actually well-positioned, nicely designed with some great potential is ruined by the staff and general lack of care. The host should look for a new job. Perhaps a tax inspector?

No hope at all on the Orizon!
We have been travelling for over 7 months and this has been the most inhospitable, uncomfortable and over priced hotel to date with officially the worst breakfast. Ever. The pictures you see online do not match reality so do not expect to visit a serene, comfortable, beautiful, welcoming hotel. The owners are clearly very tired and do not care about their guests’ experience. They do not smile. They do as little as humanly possible for as much as possible. It also doesn’t help that the reservations contact (Stavroula) is only available online. The owners do not speak English so if there is an issue on site (of which there were many during our stay with ourselves and other guests) you have to email your issue or wait for one of the grumpy owners to brusquely hand you a cellphone to talk to Stavroula. It is a Greek version of Fawlty Towers without any of the funny stuff!
We have never ever given such a low rating but this is why Orizon Tagoo has received one…
- The room we booked for our 7 night stay we did not get (sea view, balcony) … instead we were shown to a room with no balcony that smelled like a bar. To make matters worse, the owners knew about the issue as other guests we met at the hotel were given the same room which they refused to sleep in. We were then offered a small, dark, box room with no view which we declined so had to spend the night in the ashtray. A terrible start to our stay in Mykonos.
- The next day we moved to a “quadruple room” at the back of the hotel … bigger, yes, a small kitchenette, yes, but it overlooks a highway (too noisy to keep the windows open) and it receives full morning sun (during a heatwave) so some very early starts were in store for us this week!
- We were told this room was an “upgrade” … we didn’t wish to move rooms again so stayed in this room for the the remainder of our stay.
- Breakfast is a pitiful… please see pics below to see for yourself …a bland plate of bread and stale pastries… with a very small side order of scrambled eggs, tomato and cucumber. This is the “breakfast included” option despite there being a breakfast menu with numerous options on it. What is confusing is that on Day 1 and 2 we were allowed to order off the menu but on Day 3 were told we could only have the “classic breakfast”. This is the processed version which requires very little effort, preparation and cooking. The owners clearly do not want to actually MAKE any breakfast so the processed version is given to everyone each and every single day. Each morning we witnessed the confusion as guests were told there is only one breakfast option. When we complained about the one breakfast option, we received an irate call from Stavroula who shouted at me over the phone – telling us we were “trying to get free stuff”. We can assure you we did not want free stuff. We wanted the room and service we paid for which we certainly did not get.
- The coffee is from one of those petrol station machines and tastes like dishwasher. There is a proper coffee machine at the hotel bar but for decent coffee you need to pay extra.
- There are no double beds. If a double is requested, a topper is put on two single beds. Any action is at your own risk. The sheets are not fitted (and don’t fit the bed) so my wife woke up looking like Lawrence of Arabia each morning.
- In both of the rooms we stayed in, the safes don’t work. We read earlier reviews and it seems theft is not uncommon at Orizon so leave your valuables at your own risk!
- The tired air cons need to be cleaned/upgraded – they don’t work properly, make strange sounds and drop ice/water sporadically.
We hope no one has to endure what we did which is the reason we are writing this review. The longest and most detailed to date (ever!). We hope the owners will think long and hard about whether they want to stay in the hospitality industry as it seems they really don’t like it very much. Sad but true.

Beautiful place, nice location, bit overpriced
Very nice hotel. The Pictures are not the same as in reality unfortunately. Overpriced but the location is amazing and we had a very good time. Hosts are very friendly and the food that they make are affordable and so good! We had a very good time

Mykonos Magic!
Just Perfect. We stayed here for the second week of September and cannot praise this small family run hotel highly enough. Welcoming, generous and friendly! Thank you Nikos, Ireni, Vayos and Feriklis as well as the lady who kept our room so beautifully clean and fresh everyday but whom we never actually saw! The pool area has a fabulous chilled out vibe and the walk to town is just 10 minutes down a steep hill. My partner and I are 53 and 65 and of average fitness and we found it quite easy. A great base for your Mýkonos adventures. We hired a Quad bike for a day which was fun and the nearest beach which we visited several times is Agios Stefanos. The bus goes there and back al day from the North bus station at the bottom of the hill. In summary, lovely people, great location with fabulous views and would recommend a stay here without hesitation.
