Lovely boutique hotel in a great location

Lovely boutique hotel, in a Great location by 2 bays / beach. Plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants (a few shops and convenience stores) within walking distance. Hotel has everything you need, and lovely clean and comfy rooms. Great staff - would recommend for a short stay (we did 2 nights island hopping)

Blatant Racial Discrimination and Unacceptable Management Response

During my stay at Pelican Bay Hotel in Mykonos, I experienced blatant racial discrimination at the hotel bar. An employee named Kostas served white guests who arrived after me while deliberately leaving me waiting. When I questioned why I was being ignored, he told me that the white guests were the priority and that I was not. This was not a misunderstanding, ordinary rudeness, or simply my opinion. I was directly told that white guests were being prioritized over me because of my race. I felt humiliated, degraded, and completely unwelcome as a paying hotel guest. I immediately reported the incident to the hotel manager. Instead of apologizing, expressing concern, or investigating what happened, his first response was to dismiss my experience as merely “my opinion.” His reaction showed a serious lack of empathy, professionalism, and accountability. A competent manager should first acknowledge the guest’s concern, apologize for the experience, and then investigate the incident fairly. No person should ever be treated as inferior or made to feel unwelcome because of their race. Mykonos is an international destination, and every guest deserves equal service, dignity, and respect. Based on the discriminatory treatment I experienced and management’s dismissive response, I cannot recommend Pelican Bay Hotel. Management should investigate this incident immediately and provide its employees with meaningful anti discrimination and guest relations training.

Dear Guest,
We take any allegation of discrimination extremely seriously. Following your complaint, we reviewed the incident with the members of our team who were present, and the circumstances described do not support the allegation that you were treated differently because of your race.
The situation occurred when you approached the bar while other guests were already waiting to be served. Our bartender asked you to wait until those guests had been attended to. At no point was any guest given priority on the basis of race, nationality, or ethnicity. The statement attributed to our employee regarding white guests being given priority is categorically denied.
Pelican Bay Hotel welcomes guests from all over the world, and we are proud of our international clientele. Kostas has been a member of our team for four years, and we have never previously received a complaint alleging discriminatory conduct on his part.
We acknowledge that, as with any interaction, communication can always be handled with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. However, this does not justify or substantiate an allegation of racial discrimination.
We also cannot accept the characterization that your concerns were dismissed. As management, we listened to your complaint and considered the circumstances before reaching our conclusion. A manager's responsibility is to assess the facts objectively rather than automatically accept an allegation without investigation.
We respect your right to share your experience. At the same time, we believe it is important for future readers to have the hotel's perspective and to understand that we do not accept allegations of racial discrimination that are not supported by the facts available to us.

Great hotel!

Great small hotel with nice clean spacious rooms, very sweet staff, good breakfast and a nice pool. The hotel is within walking distance of two beautiful beaches. A taxi to the old town is easily arranged. Had a wonderful holiday here!

Really nice place. Clean, comfortable and inviting. Staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely small hotel.

We stayed here for three nights as part of our island hopping. The hotel was really good, the staff were all helpful and friendly. Mind you it was tge very start of the season so not yet jaded by horrible customers. The room we had was comfortable and clean. The outdoor space was lovely with nice views. Only minor gripe the fridge could have been cooler! Ideal location close to beach and restaurants.
