Brilliant stay
This is our first time staying at Alekos. These are typical Greek apartments. Although these are 2 star apartments, they are very clean and tidy, and have all the basic essentials. We feel the negative reviews that have been posted are very unfair and most likely are from people wanting a 5 star experience for 2 star prices. Location is also good and less than 10 minutes walk into town.
The cleaners come in every day, and bedding and towels changed regularly.
We have a late flight home on Friday and are supposed to vacate the apartment at 11.00am, we asked George the owner if possible to stay later and he was most abligeing and said we can keep the apartment till 5.00 pm, that's what I call Good customer service.
We absolutely love it hear, and will most certainly be back next year. It's worth every penny, bravo to all the staff. Thank you for a lovely stay

Not even a 1 star
DO NOT STAY HERE!
We were allocated room 8 here for one night and we were shocked at how bad it was. Totally unsuitable to be used by Olympic Holidays who gave it a 2 star rating.
Very poor quality, bed sheets and towels rough and old, room smelt of stale cigarettes, bathroom was very small with broken tiles and porcelain soap holder broken off the wall.
“Kitchen” had dirty pots and pans under the sink. You would not want to eat here.
Beds were even worse - rock hard with stale smelling pillows. We didn't sleep at all - the minimum requirement of a room is a comfortable bed and a good nights sleep.
This is not even a 1 star. The room should have a refurb before allowing any more guests here.

Needs complete makeover and a new cleaner who actually cleans but you pay cheap you get cheap.
Could not fault the location near bus stop 4 but that’s about it.
It was a last minute booking with not much choice left so we booked as we have been to Skiathos many times and love the place

Basic accommodatio; have no grand expectations
The Alekos studios are very near megali ammos beach, and down a lane in a residential area. A good position for getting into town via the old port or the top of papadiamantis street. I found the room to be spacious, but with an extremely small bathroom that was not inviting. The bed was very comfy, no problem with pillows as previously mentioned by other reviewers, as they were new. The kitchen area although basic, had what was needed for cooking breakfast and/or basic meals. There is a walkway type balcony, and if lucky, you can enjoy peace and quiet, overlooking the garden. Also a front door small balcony to provide ventilation/light. The bathroom was so uninviting that I dreaded turning the light on, the sink is small, with a kitchen mixer tap that was useless for washing. Cleaning was inadequate, I found so many other peoples hair around the room. I expect the cleaner was not given adequate time for regular deep cleans. The bathroom was not cleaned the week I was there. The towels were changed. The main front door has a "dodgy" lock, and on a couple of occasions I was locked out for some time. Despite all of the above, the place does have some charm, and peacefulness about it. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't ever stay again, but would have to be a cheap deal.

Good edge of town location but needs refurb
We liked the location in a quiet road not far from the main street, charismatic old town, beaches and bus stop 4 to other parts of the island. The furnishings were good but room could do with a refurb and mosquito nets added to kitchen and bathroom windows. Corroded door handles and taps were not nice. The property consists of 8 studios (as far as I can make out), 4 at first floor level and 4 above. All have balconies overlooking the street but only the second floor balconies are big enough for table and chairs. The back consists of shared walkways with table and chairs outside each room and a rack for drying clothes. The back overlooks a lovely little garden. We had a few problems (leaky wash basin and shower rail malfunction) but these were sorted promptly via the rep. A linen change needed promting mid week and I agree with another review that the towels were rough - nice thick ones though! We never saw a cleaner (although bins were emptied regularly) and the owner wasn't always on site so, having not been offered air con or safe when shown to the room or seeing any signage as to cost, we went without. Our room was very short of sockets but wifi reception was excellent. Usual self-catering area with adequate equipment but lacking decent clean cupboard space. Altogether basic, and basiclly clean.
