Amazing location & Fabulous cleaning
Stayed at Marialena Rooms on October 2024 on Room 4. The owners are very friendly and give amazing recommendations of the island, room was very clean + a daily cleaner on the room, with good amenities. Amazing location near restaurants / bars and harbor.

Awful
Very very disappointing.
Horrendous drain smell from bathroom as soon as you walk into the room. Upon entering the bathroom found a clump of someone’s hair stuck to the sink, toilet seat falling off, shower head perched on faucet as the wall bracket was literally hanging off the wall, shower head also leaks profusely from its base and also missing the switch from shower to tap. Both drains in the shower and bathroom floor pretty disgusting and STINKY! Also explained to us on arrival that if we wanted to shower we would have to go to the electricity board in the corridor and turn on the water heater trip switches…
The bed was made with only only a single (stained) sheet over the mattress -found another sheet to sleep under but not on or made with the bed, about 10 grubby looking throw cushions on bed but no pillowcase on the pillow. Great location to the port/nightlife but no double glazing and seemingly paper thin walls so don’t count on sleeping before 2am or at all really, the beds aren’t comfortable either. The fridge is also pretty noisy. Were provided with mugs and kettle but no tea/coffee/water or anything thing like that. The only positive is the location in relation to the harbour.

Perfect Location
This is the best location for a stay in Skopelos. You are right in the middle of all the action of the small town. Our room was very clean and the view was incredible. We loved starting each day on the balcony.

Perfect location but still a work in progress
We stayed here for 3 nights during our recent trip to the Sporades. First the positives. The place is centrally located and just a couple of minutes away from the port and the bus stop. It is conveniently around the corner from a bakery shop where you could have lovely pies and bougatsa for breakfast. The establishments positions is in short in short its biggest asset. The room itself was nicely done and maintained a lot of its character. There was a little fridge in the room that was useful for keeping some cold water. There are beautiful sea views from the little balcony that add to the whole experience of visiting the Greek islands.
We were greeted at the port by the owner and walked to the hotel which was a nice touch as the hotel was nowhere near to where we expected it to be.
This brings us to the negatives and the unfulfilled potentials. The owners are helpful but are quick to remind you that this is not a hotel but rather rooms. As such there is no reception and you can only contact the owners using your own private phone. This can be costly depending on which part of the world you come from. You could contact them by email but you have to allow for some time for response. It would have been much better if there was a point of contact for customers. Rooms and apartments when are rented for short accomodation still maintain a reception or a phone for calling the caretaker free of charge. Also establishments like this one should provide complimentary toiletries. Travelers that island hop across the aegean tend to travel light. We had to ask for some toiletries.
The sewage system in islands like this one can sometimes not be the best and there is nothing that can be done about this but there was a malodorous smell in the room in the evenings that could have been address at least by using some air fresheners. The air conditioning system was working fine but it looked in a haphazard state. The same can be said about the properties electrical circuit. During our first night it got overloaded and dropped the main. This might be in line for some modernisation.
The postcode provided for the hotel is very near to hotel Regina. this was also the establishment that got paid for our stay on the island. I suspect the owners spent most of their time at that hotel. That doesn't present necessarily a big issue as long as customers easy contact with the owners and they are provided with adequate service.

Simple but clean accommodation with a superb location
Small but clean rooms at a super central location on the island of Skopelos. A small TV, Air conditioning and free WIFI. Only the bathroom needs an update. We loved our stay and we hope to come back again.
