Shame. What a waste of a good location.

Fabulous, quiet location like others say. Now for the nasty stuff. Hotel of such poor construction, you can and you will hear everything others do, every knock, every sound and every bang – from late night to early morning. Essentially, you are sharing a room with those left, right, above and below. Hard to sleep. Amateurish architecture, by the way, e.g. you have to go through two narrow doors to get to the staircase to the rooms upstairs. The electrics are so badly wired, you can find yourself stuck in total darkness for ages, and bump into everything, to work out the switches, every single time. The fridge is so noisy, you cannot sleep. If you unplug it, the floor will flood. The manager can flip to rudeness and bulling out of the blue for no reason. Also, the price he quotes is not the price you pay later – he adds previously undeclared taxes. He then charges even more for breakfast, which is of such poor choice, not worth a euro, except perhaps just a coffee. In summary, two stars, but two stars too many.

An ideal retreat located in the quite and beautiful Kalogria region run by the best hosts you could ever have.

Driving down the private drive to the hotel, you could imagine that this was a rustic retreat in Africa with the wonderful trees and sandy but also green surroundings. You can hear the sea from the downstairs outside lounge area and your balcony outside your room. The owners, Costas and Perikles are the most delightful people you could ever meet and are warm and welcoming and the best of everything Greece has to offer. One or the other was there to bring drinks in the day and these were always a complied by snacks. The bedrooms were clean, spacious and had good AC. The showers are due for an upgrade but apart from that, a good sleep was had. The location is perfect in terms of an empty sandy beach 15 minutes walk away and a conservation forest and lagoon a drive away. Within walking distance there's a really basic, but friendly and well cooked food restaurant and about 10 more minutes away a quite unique amazing restaurant with a view of the mountain. The breakfast was amazing and proper filter coffee was continuously been brought to the open eartng area. Everything was on offer and the best scrambled egg I've had in my like was cooked to order. Hopefully ..the pics say it all. Our thanks to the brothers who went above and beyond. This is the perfect retreat from the noise of everyday city life.

Nice rooms with balcony and kitchenette, very clean and spacious

Is a perfect place for families if you want to relax at the walking distance’s beach with crystal blue water or discover the nearby lagoon and national park for wildlife and nature

Very, very, peaceful.

It's a little oasis in a rather barren village, there being no shop, and few tavernas. The hotel's taverna is now derelict. The terrace, where breakfast is served, is tranquil, and in a beautiful garden. The terrace furniture is rather uncomfortable but shaded by enormous parasols in hot weather. The breakfast was passable; microwaved bread, plastic salami and processed cheese slices, tinned peaches, fresh apple slices, dilute orange squash and reasonable filter coffee, and Greek yogurt, strangely rigid in texture. On seeing that we barely touched most of the breakfast offerrings, Pericles, the beautiful and English-speaking waiter, modified the breakfast to include fresh peaches and bananas. Our room was very basic but a good size, the little balcony over-looking the garden was big enough for us both to sit down, sadly, on very uncomfortable furniture. The bathroom was better-than-average for a Greek one, having a shower enclosure and a curtain round it. The usual loo paper-in-a-bucket routine prevailed, but mercifully, it was emptied daily. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the balcony wasn't cleaned at all during the week that we stayed there. We received very good service from Pericles, perhaps not surprising as we were the only people staying there. It was a short walk to the beach which was really lovely; sun-loungers at no cost in front of the Kantina, which served excellent pork souvlaki and fries at lunchtimes. There were no other Brits in this region, it being mainly enjoyed by the Greeks themselves. Overall, the hotel is perfectly adequate, but, as it has not taverna and the kitchen facilites in the rooms do not include any crockery or cutlery or pans, those seeking more gastronomy than the village can offer, will be very disappointed.
