Magnificent hotel in the heart of Cilaos

The furniture and decor were chosen with taste. Spacious room with everything you need. Great breakfast in a pretty room and the hotel even has a wine cellar where it is possible to enjoy fondues & raclettes.

Very welcoming and warm

Hotel with character and charm with perfect local architecture.
The staff is very attentive, especially Ahwa, the manager, who is very welcoming and very attentive to the well-being of the guests.
You feel at home at the Tsilaosa; the luxury rooms are pretty and comfortable.
The restaurant offers excellent raclettes and fondues; furthermore, the restaurant manager is very professional and also very attentive.
The hotel could, however, use some minor work, particularly in terms of insulation and renovation of certain parts of the hotel. Breakfast is good but has less variety than before; for example, omelets and fried eggs are no longer offered, the buffet is less stocked, and there is less choice in general.

Beautiful, venerable hotel in colonial style located in the middle of town.

It is a beautiful, lovingly restored building located in the middle of town; the hotel's own parking lot is located on a side street, where you can park your car for the duration of your stay. We had a nice, modern twin-bed room on the 2nd. floor (there is an elevator) located at the end of the hallway. Since the hotel has wooden ceilings, it is certainly an advantage to stay on the 2nd. floor. It gets very cold at night in Cilaos and in the morning the panes of the sliding windows to the balcony were completely fogged up, so pack warm pajamas or thermal underwear or turn on the air conditioning. The breakfast is great and very delicious and you are asked about your preferences. There are even fresh crepes. During our stay, many restaurants were closed in the evening, so we once participated in the cheese fondue or raclette evening in the hotel's wine cellar. It was very nice and cozy, but also quite expensive, even for La Reunion standards. Otherwise, Cilaos is like a ghost town from 4:30 PM on, since many shops close by then; it is just the starting point for long hikes, but obviously not a meeting place for afterwards and in the evenings. Even around 3 PM, there are hardly any cafes or bars that are open. A pity.

Overpriced "raclette" experience: €38 per person.

Very nice and well located hotel in Cilaos.

The hotel is very well located, everything within walking distance. Hikes can be started directly from the hotel. The hotel has its own parking space, which we really appreciated.
The rooms were clean and well equipped, the staff friendly.
The hot tub is unfortunately subject to a fee. We booked 30min, overall it did us good.
The breakfast was also very good, only the coffee from the vending machine was not good.
Overall, the price fits too high for what you get.
