Magnificent, fabulous, relaxing (a dream ✨).
It was fabulous. The animals are treated very well. And the walk with the lions was superb. Contrary to what I have read or heard, the animals are not drugged at all but are just well adapted since birth. This experience was magical! ✨
I highly recommend it.
The lodges were great, clean, and beautiful. The food was also very good. There is a large pool in the middle of the animals; it is a dream to be able to be there. Go there, do not hesitate at all.
Once again, I recommend it 100%.

Worth a visit
I’m writing 2 reviews for fathala because we had 2 very different experiences through TUI.
This is based on the safari itself.
Is it worth the money? I’m not sure, I think it’s wonderful they are trying to bring the animals back to the area, BUT I’m not sure it’s worth £130!
Seeing the animals is amazing and seeing them in a wilder habitat is breathtaking, we managed to see the babies(apart from the baby giraffe) out guide on safari was good and seeing interacted well.
I think on my part we should have booked through a local company and not TUI - as it may well be them that let us down!
Food and drinks in the visitors centre are decently priced - make sure you take West African Francs with you as they aren’t keen on dalasi!
Overall a decent couple of hours

The manager was horrible, and the management overall was terrible. It felt like South Africa in the 1970s.
No one was at the property when we arrived. There was no cell phone service, and after driving one kilometer inside the reserve, they still refused to give us the Wi-Fi password. The employees seemed afraid to call the manager, and when she finally arrived, she still did not provide the Wi-Fi access.
After telling us she was going to get it from her office, she disappeared for three hours.
At that point, we decided it was time to end the nightmare.
Waking with the lion we cancelled that activity
If you are Black, this is not the place to stay: Fathala Wildlife Reserve. After a 10-hour drive, this was a major disappointment.
Visit the wildlife reserve only. The staff are excellent, and the guides are professional and highly proficient in their work.
You can find better hotels near the reserve for your stay.
Most guests seem to have a good experience with the safari itself.

Broken jacuzzi no refund
Local staff excellent food good Safari great but I paid for a room with jacuzzi and unfortunately heating didn't work. Spoke to reception and three different technicians came but couldn't solve issue. Went back to reception and requested for another room which has the same facilities but was told that the other jacuzzi was not in order . Asked about a refund for the extra i had paid for the jacuzzi and was told that on my departure it will be sorted out. Yesterday the 15th of march as i was checking out i asked for the refund which was promised. The receptionist then called the manager a European lady. when she came she practically called me a cheat for trying to ask for a refund. I told her that I laid the complaint from the first day and that their technical team sent 3 different people but none could solve the issue. She was not interested and said well that was not the story i was told. I paid for a more expensive room with a jacuzzi and that is all I asked for. I felt cheated and it ruined the otherwise beautiful experience I had. I will not recommend any one going to this resort to not pay for this room until you can verify that the heating system is working properly. They also charged me up front the first day otherwise i wouldn't have agreed to pay. Be aware of what you are booking as there are no refunds.

Referring to he jacuzzi, the maximum temperature of a jacuzzi is 40 degrees Celsius for safety reasons and takes approximately one and a half hours to reach maximum temperature.
The jacuzzi is not a hot tub. Our jacuzzies are open air amenities.
The heat settings were working the way it was designed to work, and confirmed by three different people that it was working as it should.

Peaceful stay surrounded by wildlife
The location is truly wonderful — we were amazed by the variety of wildlife we got to see: lions, giraffes, monkeys, rhinos… It’s such a special experience to sit by the pool in the evening and watch the animals come to drink. The guides are incredibly professional, and the entire staff is warm, attentive, and welcoming. The meals are good, though the breakfast could be enhanced with a few local touches, like homemade jams and local honey . The concept is fantastic overall, and with a bit more maintenance, it would be perfect — perhaps a quick check of the tents before each guest’s arrival to make sure all hygiene products and amenities are in place would make a real difference.
Bedding is really comfortable and mojitos are so good!!!
