Terrible service and old hotel
I stayed here for 5 nights in March 2026. It was a very unpleasant experience. This was for me the first time that I did not feel welcome in a hotel. There is no atmosphere in the hotel's compound, the bar or the restaurant, but the hotel's staff made the whole experience a very bad one. Only the guards were able to give you a smile and approach you in a friendly manner.
I was put in a bigger room / apartment. It had its own kitchen, laundry machine, TV and ACs. This was not too bad, it was just a bit old. I was informed that, because it is an apartment, they'd only clean my room once per week. This is honestly speaking not frequent enough. Cleaning once per 2 days is still fine, but they only cleaned my room once when I was there. Not getting fresh bed sheets and towels is a disappointment.
Breakfast was included but was not good. The pancakes were tasteless and the toast was only served with a tiny piece of butter. This coupled with grumpy waitresses and management made it a bad start of the day. Despite this, I did try to have my dinner once at the hotel too. The restaurant, however, was almost empty and only later I understood why. Apparently you'd have to order your dinner far in advance, so that they can prepare it for the moment you want it. And indeed, I had to wait quite a bit for my dinner to arrive. I had no problems with this as they did explain that this would take time. I did have a problem, however, with the restaurant experience when I wanted to order a drink with my dinner. When I asked what drinks they have, I was asked to walk down stairs to the bar and ask there what drinks they have. The restaurant upstairs is apparently working separately from the bar where the drinks are served. I never experienced this anywhere in the world.
When the hotel was booked, I was informed that the room would be 75 USD/ night. When I wanted to check out, the hotel staff told me the price was 80 USD/ night. The employee was apparently not aware of the earlier agreed price but came down to 75 USD / night after making some phone calls. I also asked to get an official tax receipt. Apparently this was not possible with a price of 75 USD / night. If I wanted to have a tax receipt, I had to pay 15% extra. This all seemed very shady and the way this was communicated did not help make things look better at all.
The whole experience was thus quite bad. The rooms are not too bad, just old, but its the way how customers are treated which is truly a big let down for me. I would thus recommend everyone to avoid this place.

Unpleasant stay with unwashed bed linen
Had to bang on gate for several minutes before being allowed in. Once in, i thought i had come tot the wrong place - an empty yard or construction site or something. The manager emerged and took me to a room. There was no-one around but i was told it was full. The room I was shown to was a ground floor double - it was dark and smelled as if it hadn't been aired in a while. The owner wiped the table with her fingers and commented on how dusty it was - but didn't make any move to have it cleaned. I was asked to pay up-front. The pillow cases had not been washed - disgusting - and an absolute red line for me. What kind of establishment makes guests use pillow cases stinking of previous guests bodies. Following morning there was no water. I had to ask for the pump to be switched on. I can do basic, but staying here was horrible and not particularly friendly experience.

I was pleased there were 110v plugs. The food in the restaurant took a long time for supper-45mins to 1hr. The portions for breakfast was very skimpy and you had to ask for everything that you wanted extra. The internet was weak. The room and property was kept very well considering the outside surroundings.

Great place to stay
Very happy to recommend this hotel. Our room was immaculately clean, with ensuite, very comfortable bed, ac and tv with international channels. The location was close enough to the centre for easy access but far enough away to be out of the worst of the congestion. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. The restaurant had both western and african dishes. We will be sure to stay there on our next visit to Freetown.
