Beautiful stay
Travel from farms with only singles in the resort SOJKA.
Definitely recommended, super friendly host Gerdi.
Very extensive buffet for breakfast and dinner!
Beautiful surroundings, especially for those who like walking, from the resort.
Nice trips in the area done.
In summary: a wonderful trip with stay in a great resort, where nothing is too much to ask and the staff is always ready!

Nice wooden-houses-hotel for winter enjoy, but it needs more cleanness and maintenance. People in reception are the less smiling all over Slovakia. No possible to have dinner (second time I found the restaurante closed). Breakfast is always very good, with a lot of choice and quantities.

Bad experience: water out of the WC with a bad pee smell. No restaurant available for dinner and we were not anounced it. No courtesy on the desk girl; not kind or pleasant.

We are waiting for compensation because it was more than substandard!!!
Rooms were clean, staff friendly, wellness very good, in the bathroom you did miss a rack or shelf to put something on. What was incredibly bad was breakfast and dinner!! fries were too much baked and cold!! cheese croquettes were cold and sometimes without cheese filling.. warm (read: cold) carrots were rubber! mayonnaise had to be asked up to 3 times.6 (cold) pancakes for our group of 40....and there was no replenishment! the leftovers from the previous day, both dessert, sliced fruit, meat or vegetables, were served back the next day!! When a number of people complained to the owner, he referred that he had rented out 2 star chefs the restaurant until October 1st... well, we were there until September 16th so....there was no talk about compensation, which would be more than normal here! This is a resension of not 1 couple but of almost the whole group, but some have less knowledge of writing reviews, so I promised to do so in this way in the name of many! Breakfast and dinner were all paid for in advance, a pity that no more effort was made to do something about it! Eating lunch at local restaurants was very cheap and very tasty!!! fortunately!

A chalet at this resort? Thanks, but never again!
My wife and I had beautiful memories of this resort, having stayed here several times, but I’m honestly disappointed with our most recent experience.
We chose the chalet Sojka for this stay, as we always wanted to try it out - based on the photos, it looked amazing and seemed to offer everything even for the little ones. However, the reality was entirely different from the photos. We were given the chalet Ján, which looks nothing like the photos inside (the only match was probably the bathroom). It was obviously either the first chalet built or one of the firsts. I would recommend checking which chalet you’re actually booking before making a reservation.
However, the chalet was spacious, functionally furnished, and appears romantic at first glance. All three rooms also felt cozy. I must highlight the quality of the mattress and bedding - we all slept very well. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was also commendable, they really took care of that. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
I’m disappointed that when we opened the door to the chalet, we were greeted by an unpleasant odor - a musty smell, which was even worse in the living room. The smell was reminiscent of spilled wine at best or, sorry for the term, vomit at worst. It took the whole day to air it out somewhat, just awful. The entire chalet needs a thorough cleaning, there’s dust everywhere. If you have a dust/mite allergy, avoid this accommodation like the plague - it triggered mine after three years!
The kitchen is fully equipped, but the cleanliness of the glasses, pots, and so on depends on how the previous guests left them. I grabbed the first glass, only to find it smeared with greasy residue and some sticky foam. I put it back and didn't use anything else from the kitchen.
The flooring on the ground floor needs a complete overhaul, there are five spots where the boards literally give way, and I don’t even weigh 100 kilos. I dread to think what would happen to someone heavier - would the floorboards break? I’m not even going to address the creaking (from the cabinets, doors, stairs, floors, everything), as that’s somewhat expected in this type of accommodation, but this is borderline unsafe.
There are bird droppings everywhere, swallows and other birds have left a mess all over. They addressed this in a very "clever" way by putting up a sign on the chalet saying, "We live here too," with a picture of a swallow. But why don’t they inform guests about this in advance? Interestingly, the neighboring chalet had fake predator birds installed, so we’re clearly not the only ones who found this unacceptable. I don’t understand why there’s a balcony on the upper floor, it’s unusable. They should just put up a sign that says, “Enter at your own risk!” The windows probably haven’t been cleaned in a century, and even when you open the doors, you’re greeted with more droppings and dust, and they left a table and chairs there as a joke. Definitely not a family-friendly environment (!).
The worst part was the outdoor amenities, which was the main reason we chose this place, based on photos of a playground, pool, and other activities. Again, I would put up a sign saying, “Use at your own risk.” The trampoline was muddy, full of rocks, torn, and unusable. The slide was also muddy (who thought it was a good idea to put a decorative rock garden a meter from the slide?). On the stage with the supposed swing, there were two stands with spikes, are those for impaling yourself? Near the playground, there was another amusing sign prohibiting dog walking because it’s a children's zone, but apparently, it’s fine for sheep to run around all day (who, I assume, return to their pen for their needs).
The final straw was the pool. We were warned upon arrival that it might not be usable due to the weather (it rained the first day), but that wasn’t our intention anyway. We arrived after a week of record temperatures, but there was only an issue with the water temperature? After everything I’ve mentioned, that seems very unlikely.
And all of this for just under €150 per night, what a bargain, right? All these issues drag the entire facility way below the standard of chalets suitable for school trips, let alone family vacations. If you’re interested in a chalet, I recommend looking elsewhere, you can get much more for your money not only in Jasná but also directly in the High Tatras!
