This amazing mountain retreat felt instantly at home with the owners that made us all feel like family. The room was not only spacious but it included an incredible view of the whole valley which no picture can appropriately show.
Another thing a picture could not describe was the incredible clean mountain pine tree fresh smell that felt like medicine with every breath. The breakfast buffet was quite incredible as was the dinner we had.
The only thing we would have changed was the length of our reservation… Looking back, we wish we would have been able to stay longer! My wife and I recommend this to all who are looking for a wonderful retreat resort and even those who like us came to the area to see Orava Castle. Booking this amazing hotel and you will be wonderfully delighted and recharged for what’s next after your return from vacation. Next time we are in Slovakia this resort is first on our list.

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the facility. The views were absolutely beautiful and made our visit even more special. The owner was very kind, welcoming, and friendly, which made us feel right at home. The food was also very good, with plenty of tasty options to enjoy. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful mountain retreat with incredible views, food and people!

We visited Hotel Havrania from the USA in January 2022. This place is a gem!
Getting there: We rented an AWD SUV in Vienna and drove the 3.5 hours to the hotel without any difficulty. Border crossing was smooth, didn’t even have to stop until our return back to Austria. If no snow a car would be fine but there was plenty of slippery snow on the roads in the mountains so we were thankful for the AWD to not have to worry about chains.
The hotel: Gorgeous! The quality of construction is noticeable and the views of the surrounding hills, countryside and mountains are stunning. We had a room in the hotel that was clean and comfortable, but they also have chalets that are incredible for a group or family. The restaurant has a cozy fireplace to enjoy after a day of adventure and the bar is well stocked with a fine selection of liquor. There is also a Wellness Center with 2 saunas (one steam, one dry), a cold tub and a warm pool, and a relaxing room to rest in. Can also book a massage.
The food: Everything was delicious, you would think you were at a 5 star restaurant in the city. Wonderful cuts of meat with flavorful sauces and a great selection of tasty wines to pair with whatever you choose. Wish we had more time to try everything on the menu.
The staff: Everyone was friendly and attentive. They know the area very well so if you need recommendations on where to ski in the winter or hike in the summer they will happily assist with your plans.
We are so glad we found this place and cannot recommend it enough. If you are looking for a beautiful place in the mountains of Slovakia to relax and adventure this is an absolute must. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice family hotel

Very nice family hotel. Room was nice and clean. Beds comfortable. Food was tasty! Staff helpful, owners very friendly. Wellness is smaller, but very cosy and clean. Quiet location, beautiful view. We had a great stay.

Great visit again

This was our second visit to the Hotel Havrania (see my other review). This time again everything from food, throughout the service and the rooms was perfect and without any problems. Kids now have limited access to the wellness area from 4 to 6pm. I think this is a wrong idea (especially with so many families being around), nevertheless I think the owners will revisit and correct this decision. Especially during the holiday season I don't think it makes sense. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect and we look forward to coming back in summer.
