Hidden gem with outstanding service

What a find. Matjaž was incredibly helpful - he went out of his way trying to help us extend our rental car, even though every number the rental agency gave us was wrong. Luca was also great in the evening. The breakfast wait staff was equally impressive: efficient, friendly, great attitudes. The room was excellent. A hidden gem we'd happily return to.

Great hotel in a perfect location

Very nice hotel, comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff and the location cannot be better. Air conditioning worked great in hot august weather. Just the bathrooms are tiny but that wasn’t a big deal for us. Highly recommend.

Charming jewel in the middle of Ljubljana

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Mrak in Ljubljana. The hotel presents itself as absolutely modern and stylish. The location on Rimska cesta is perfect – pleasantly quiet and yet the old town is reachable in a few minutes' walk.
The entire team was exceptionally accommodating, attentive, and helpful. A real highlight were the video city tours provided by the hotel. We watched them comfortably on the large TV in the room, but you can also access them in a completely modern way via smartphone. They were equivalent to a professionally guided tour – extremely detailed and with real cultural added value instead of hotel marketing!
Particularly modern solution: For when you are out and about in the city, the whole thing is also available digitally on your phone. Paired with the hotel's own interactive city map on the smartphone, it was the perfect companion right on site when exploring the sights.
The breakfast also absolutely convinced us – everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The rooms were spotless and we felt completely comfortable. Particularly noteworthy is the great service: The team took such warm care of us even after check-out, as if we were still guests at the hotel. An unrestricted recommendation for every visit to Ljubljana!

Best experience in Ljubljana

We were only at Hotel Mrak for breakfast.
The food was first-class & very reasonably priced. The service was very friendly. We sat outside under beautiful grapevines (in the courtyard).
When it rained, we took refuge in the beautifully furnished interior. Even then, the service was attentive and understanding.
We had hash browns, Ljubljana pancakes, omelet & struklji. The Ljubljana pancakes come out of the oven and are sweet while simultaneously seasoned with tarragon (tastes much better than it sounds).
Unbeatable price (4 hash browns - 4 euros). We paid 30 euros for 2 dishes each and two coffees each.
