It is earned.

A beautiful experience despite a transparent arrival; indeed, if you have, like us, oversized and heavy suitcases, good luck . That said, there are two options to go up: either directly via the stairs, or a little further to the left of these stairs, a half-stairway that is just as steep. The hotel is not well marked; when you are on the incline, it is to the right in a corner. After arrival, the reception is charming; the staff comes straight from Amsterdam and wanted to give a touch of their country, which makes for an astonishing but very charming mix, especially in the restaurant, which was a wonderful discovery (I recommend the experience). Regarding the "Merlot" room where we stayed, it is quite small but comfortable with a very nice terrace. A stocked mini-bar is missing as there is only water in the fridge. Coffee and tea are available. However, if, like us, you need to leave early, you should know that breakfast starts at 9 AM, so no comments from us on this subject since we could not enjoy it. 4 minutes from the sea and in the heart of the old town. A beautiful discovery.

They did not clean the room.

Everything was great except that our room wasn't cleaned in 4 days.... And that is unacceptable.... We mentioned it to an employee on the third day, and they didn't even bother to clean on the fourth day.

Lovely small hotel ! The location is in the heart of the old town with easy access to the beach. The room is lovely and well equipped with all amenities. Plus a fridge, coffee and tea. The service is quick and friendly.
But the bed is too small for two.
The plus of this hotel is its restaurant: Shiraz. Excellent exquisite food and choice of wine. We had a lovely evening.
The downside of this hotel is the checkout at 11. It’s too early for travelers spending only one night. And it’s not easy to find.
All in all we had a lovely stay.

A wonderful gastronomic experience

I had visited the venue about ten years ago with friends and loved the place. I decided to book an overnight stay and restaurant for my fiancé’s birthday. He absolutely loved it. Since I visited, the venue is under different management and I hoped it would be as nice as I remembered. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We were booked into the Merlot room which was very clean, well equipped and had its own private roof terrace with spectacular sea views over Altea. The tables on the terrace restaurant were a little quirky, some seating areas had bonquettes and as under tree canopies, there were leaves around, which can’t be helped I guess. Very romantic setting with lights spread through the canopies, overlooking views of the mountain range. You can hear the church bell from the town square. All very lovely. The food was inventive, tasty and of high quality. This, paired with some wines, made for a wonderful experience. We truly enjoyed everything we were served. We were not rushed, the table was ours for the night. Wonderful. We will most definitely return in the near future.

Unique place to stay, set on the slopes of Altea, halfway between the church and the beach. A really lovely setting for the restaurant/bistro of the accommodation where the food was amazing… the best in Altea and at an affordable price.
