Holiday top

October 2024 , first time in Tenerife with stay in Ten bell.
Close to the airport and with everything you need for both everyday shopping and lunch, dinners out.
Very quiet place , quiet and well guarded .
With the rental car,, I was convenient to many beaches and clubs.
With a nice walk you can get to the fishing village and the port ,
What about a nice experience and holiday ..
From there again without doubt ..

Quiet and pleasant place

Booked apartment on Airbnb. Very large complex surrounded by a beautiful garden in continuous maintenance. Beautiful swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas available.
Close to supermarket and various bars in a typical fishing village. Parking space near the property. By car you can move around the island with comfort 15 minutes from the airport Less chaotic than other areas of the island.

Give it a chance

We did Airbnb not knowing anything about Tenerife. Yes slightly disappointed with the immediate vicinity especially as we arrived in the dark. Could not fault the complex that is well kept with very large apartment and pool area.mostly owner occupied and they are cheerful and always out sweeping shows pride in their complex. The derelict park area and shopping centre are just that. You still feel safe and there's no obvious vermin or smell as someone seems to imply and we stayed in the same week. Further in to the resort there are some lovely holiday complexes and when we explored it was just unfortunate that the
primavera is the only bit that has an old abandoned park next to it. We were prompted to read up on the history of tenbel and it's fascinating. The whole "town" is 60's holiday camp and the local council for legal reasons would not maintain the public spaces. Now this has changed so it will improve. It's quieter and less sophisticated than the usual areas such as los christianos las America's. But you get cheaper food and guaranteed nearby street parking. petrol station is cheaper.

Ten bel

Ten bel is a place to be given a wide birth. The surrounding area is awful and run down. You'll know that you're near ten bel because of the tower. Then you'll notice the derelict buildings right next to the tower. It is then that the stench hits you. The smell of stale human waste mixed with fairly fresh human waste is absolutely disgusting. If you carry on into the shops you'll find half of them closed. But the worst thing is that the disgusting smell comes with you. NEVER AGAIN

Scruffy area

Such a pity that the area surrounding Ten Bel is so dirty, buildings derelict, broken windows, rubble, untidy pavements. It looks like a bomb site. It must have been lovely once but how sad to see an area like this .. why has this been allowed to happen..?
Gallatas and further along in Silencios it's a lovely area.
