A great 10 days in sandos benidorm suites
Check in:
efficient, Claire on reception was friendly and welcoming, room not ready (we were quite early about 10am) but told to check back at 2.30, and given all inclusive wrist bands to access all services.
Lobby:
Really spotless and looked very fancy, as shown before, loved the music theme and the musical note lights
Room:
Lovely big room on the 23rd floor, complimentary bottle of water, clean and tidy, beds comfy, the balcony was the stand out, it was HUGE, biggest balcony I've ever had in a hotel, more like a terrace, more than enough room to do a work out each morning, with both table and chairs and 2 sun loungers, stunning views over benidorm, swivel TV a nice touch although didn't use it, sofa seemed comfortable but again didn't use it that much.
Restaurant:
Greeted by the now legendary Denis who greeted us warmly, always happy to stop and have a chat, like we have known him for years, there was a disagreement between two guests on our first meal meal who started shouting at each other but Denis defused this calmly and professionally (there were no further incidents for the rest of our 10 day stay), all staff work tirelessly clearing tables and preparing for further guests, never a problem getting a table, drinks were easily accessible
Food:
Good choice of food, different each day for lunch and dinner, standard breakfast offerings, never had a problem finding something tasty to eat each day (and returning for another plate!) food was hot, a standout here was a dedicated vegiterian station, which served equally as lovely veggie food (the noodles a stand out) I am not veggie but I found myself sampling it more than once.
Pool/bar:
Didn't really use the pool area, the pool bar was lovely and served quickly, used the snack bar once which was nice for a quick snack such as burgers, annoyingly I didn't manage to sample the kebab, the upper terrace is where we spent the days, great sun spot, my only critism is there are not many umbrellas up there if you want shade, and they are movable so people would tend to take these early leaving little shelter in the very hot weather, but otherwise lovely area to relax with a drink,
Entertainment:
Initially indoors which was a bit disappointing but on the 1st of june it moved to the outside stage which was 100% better, and the acts were engaging and entertaining, an enjoyable evening experience
Complimentary curry restaurant meal:
very nice, slightly slow service but made up with the attention and food provided, very much enjoyed our meal there.
All in all a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would highly recommend,
Only suggestion would be more shelter on the sun terrace and perhaps some cover that cannot be moved so everyone can make use of it if they do choose, the terrace is big enough!

Terrible place. Unhygenic staff. Noisy at all hours. Food terrible. Stay somewhere else !
The hotel is old. Midnight is the normal cut-off point where any excessive noise 'would not be tolerated' by hotel staff. Wrong. We complained, they did nothing. Walls of room are too thin - you can hear everything (and I mean everything !). The quality of the sound insulation in the hotel is without doubt extremely poor to non-existent. Even the room to the other side of us we could hear them talking, moving furniture, constant footsteps, flushing toilets, showers at all hours, snoring and alarms going off at 5am when they hadn’t gone to bed until 1.30am.
Our package also included the Select Lounge. Waste of time and money. No monitoring by hotel staff. People were letting their friends in, filling point glasses with spirits and heading out to the pool area. Same with entertainment at night. Friends of friends just helping themselves.
Hotel bedroom is run down; cracks on walls, bathroom sealant missing and blackened and no extraction fan causing condensation issues
A cockroach was seen, and witnessed and photographed by other guests, emerging from the Halloween snack table at the entrance to the dining room, which had been covered with a sheet.
Food was of very low quality - powdered mashed potatoes, fresh orange appeared watered down -other residents also mentioned this
Snack bar – a chef was seen handling raw meet without washing his hands before or after ! Having witnessed this, we refrained from using this facility any further.
Swimming pool – we rarely used pool due people not using the outdoor shower before entering – absolutely disgusting. On three separate days the pool was cordoned off after 4pm - younger groups of men throwing balls in pool hitting other people - lifeguard not visible enough or doing anything.
All three of us got bites from bedbugs ! By day 4 of our 7 day holiday we were itching to get back home (no pun intended).
Finally, and just when you thought it could not get any worse, we woke at 5.10am on the day of our departure to find there was no running water ! On querying with reception, they offered us an alternative room on the 3rd floor to enable us to shower etc but turned out there was no running water there either ! Therefore, myself, my husband and my son could not wash or even be able to flush the toilet or brush our teeth before we had to check out !
Our holiday was truly a horrific experience. The primary purpose of a holiday is to rest and relax. The constant noise and lack of support from staff prevented us from doing so, and we feel the accommodation provided failed to meet the reasonable standards expected of a Jet2 holiday. This has caused us considerable disappointment, distress and a significant loss of enjoyment of our trip. We paid Jet2 £3,470 for what was marketed as a quality family holiday. Given the catalogue of failings – the noise, lack of support, unhygienic conditions and general mismanagement – I do not believe the holiday represented value for money or met the standards reasonably expected from Jet2.
Jet2's customer service is shocking. Non existent. You have to keep bombarding them with emails and phone calls. And as for ABTA ? Wrote to them, emailed them and phoned them. 8 months later we have heard nothing.

Fantastic staff!
We are currently staying here and would like to give an honest view. I have seen comments on here about cleanliness - we have found the hotel to be very clean. The staff work hard and are always cleaning and tidying. The food is a standard buffet, I can be a bit picky but found something to eat every day. The salad, fruit and bread are very fresh and delicious. There is always some kind of meat and fish dish. The snack bar by the pool is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. You can get hamburgers, toasties, nuggets, kebabs, fries, hotdogs. It’s not the quickest but it is all cooked fresh before your eyes. The staff are great at constantly handing out ice pops and ice cream to the children. The entertainment staff are fantastic with the children and work really hard. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the main strip and a bit longer into the old town. We got a taxi which was around 6€. Overall, this hotel has a lovely atmosphere, yes the lifts are slow, but the beds are very comfortable, the staff are fantastic and the food is ok. I worked in the travel industry for over 20 years and can honestly say the hotel is great. At the end of the day if you want a relaxing holiday with no noise then Benidorm probably isn’t the place for you. If you want to be close to the strip but far enough away you can’t hear the noise then give this hotel a try!

Give it a go
It's a good 3 star, because of the food, presentation and choice. The staff were fantastic and constantly cleaning. Room was huge, nice towels and clean. Fair distance from strip and beach but it's Benidorm. Couldn't discount a future depending on cost, thanks.

Wonderful stay
We had an amazing stay at this hotel, staff were lovely, food was fantastic and the room was so big. The location was perfect for us as well, away from the main centre of benidorm so it was quiet. Entertainment staff were brilliant with the kids. The only thing I would change is to be on a lower floor so we will request one on our next visit. Looking forward to going back next year!
