Room very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful place to enjoy a vacation outside Madrid. I will return many times. And done forget about the "Chocolate con Picatostes" a specialty of this hotel cafeteria.

We felt deceived
We booked this hotel because they offered a dog daycare service, which was great for us to be able to visit the Monastery without worries. We booked and subsequently called several times by phone to hire the service, which was advertised on their website. They always told us that the girl who ran it was on leave. When the date of the stay arrived, we asked again and they told us the same thing, to which we had to leave our pets alone for an entire morning. We had breakfast in the cafeteria and when it was time to pay we asked about the discount offered for breakfasts that appeared on their website. They told us that in high season they did not offer it, but they continued to advertise it. We asked for a complaint form because there were already 2 services that they advertised and did not offer. After this they invited us to the next day's breakfast, quite meager by the way. We decided not to file the complaint because they removed the false information they were advertising from their website. The following week we stayed there again for one night on our return trip, since we had already booked it some time ago, and to our surprise, they charged us 10€ more for the pets. We mentioned it to them and they told us that it depended on the season. Incomprehensible, being the same month of the same year and the same guests. Finally, they refunded the difference to us. To this, one must add that the bathroom door did not work. As if this were not enough, we requested a refrigerator in the room to store medication, insisting on the importance of this matter: on the first visit the refrigerator did not work and it had to be replaced, and on the second visit they did not even bother to put one in so that it would be there upon our arrival. We feel cheated and, although we loved El Escorial and its entire surroundings, we will not return to this hotel. Next door there is another one that accepts pets and they are very friendly. And if you are not traveling with pets, you have many others to choose from.

Horrible treatment and a scam. Additionally, it is old.
Horrible treatment and a scam; first they wanted to leave us without rooms because there was a school group, then they wanted to charge us again even though we had already paid.

We booked, confirmed, and paid for 3 double rooms for a family trip. After 500 km, we arrived at 7 PM, and first they told us that the rooms did not appear, then that they did but that they had canceled them. After 2 hours wasted and it was already dark, they told us that they were canceled. We checked the app and we still had them confirmed and paid. Fed up with the wait and not knowing how to resolve it, we called the police and the manager. They decided to give us three rooms, and what a surprise the next day they wanted to charge us again!!!... the 3 rooms that were already paid for!! We went back into the app and they were still confirmed and paid. The hotel wanted to scam us by not providing rooms in the first place because they had a course filling the hotel and paying more. After accommodating us, they tried to scam us by charging for the rooms again. It was a horrible and distressing stay for the whole family; do not trust them, besides being old.

Too bad!
If you can avoid the restaurant you save yourself some money. Regular Food and Penalty Service. We went to eat, the restaurant was almost empty and we were served as if they were going to close, at all times they wanted to lift the plate, as three times they lived. Linguish and potatoes from the freezer. Then the table that was a semi-cold came completely cold. Coffees wanted to serve them before dinner. And before they finished they showed up with the dataphone. Too bad!
