A Hidden Gem in Menorca! .
Perfection at Starbal!
We have just returned from a truly delightful week in Menorca, staying at the wonderful Starbal villa. It is the kind of hidden paradise you rarely see advertised, and it exceeded all our expectations.
The Villa and Grounds
Our room at Starbal was beautiful, fully air-conditioned, and equipped with every luxury you could want. We loved being able to walk straight out onto the patio. The grounds are immaculate, featuring a pristine, well-maintained swimming pool and a stunning garden area. There is also an excellent outdoor kitchen available if you want to host a barbecue, though we chose to eat out.
Exceptional Hospitality
The service here is second to none. Our hostess, Paloma, alongside her very helpful son and Andrea her assistant, looked after us beautifully. Together, they prepared and served wonderful breakfasts each morning. Paloma has an incredible knowledge of the island. Since we chose to eat our evening meals at different hotels and restaurants across Menorca, her expert recommendations ensured we enjoyed fantastic food every single night.
Perfect for All Ages
While Starbal would be an amazing place to rent with a group of friends, it was equally perfect for us as a couple in our 80s. It is also highly recommended for families with children, thanks to the enclosed, safe garden and the pool. On many days, we actually had the entire pool and garden area to ourselves, as the other guests were out exploring the island.
Getting Around and the Local Area
We chose not to rent a car and used local taxis instead. We found them to be incredibly punctual, reliable, and very economical. Menorca itself is a beautiful destination. The entire island has a laid-back, peaceful, and safe atmosphere that reminds us of how things used to be back home.
We cannot recommend Paloma, her family, and the beautiful Starbal villa highly enough. It was a perfect holiday!

Deception
Last May, my partner and I spent two days at Starball. They welcomed us very well. However, upon arrival, we had a dispute with the Rental Enterprise: during my partner’s online booking, our computer crashed just as the bank transaction was being processed. They thought the transaction with their bank had not taken place because there was no confirmation message. So I took over and made the reservation with my personal account. When we realized that there were two direct debits for the same reservation, we wanted to be refunded the overpayment, but it was impossible! A reputable establishment would have done it.
That said, the property is clean, cozy and well located, but expensive: simple breakfasts and poorly soundproofed rooms and a dilapidated pool.

Surprises at Stabal Villa
No Welcoming. Telephone on messaging. After a Waiting time, fortunately other tenants who were returning brought us to the caretaker's accommodation far from the entrance.
"Private bathroom in accommodation" means bathroom and communal toilet upstairs. Hello the shade! It's each one's turn.
No air conditioning, fan.
Our room cannot be closed.
At +1,400€ per week, we expect better.

A boutique hotel that meets all expectations.
The hotel is spectacular, very nice, clean and comfortable. Diego's attention is very good, and he gave us very useful suggestions. Without a doubt it is very nice to go through there. Very complete breakfasts. The spectacular neighborhood. I will definitely return there if I repeat this destination.
