Lugar con encanto manchego
Es la primera vez q he ido a comer con mi pareja. Se trata de un restaurante con cierto encanto manchego. Comeras en un salón donde las tinajas son la principal decoración.
La carta no es muy extensa, pero suficiente. Disponen de un menú de fin de semana, a un precio de 20€ q no desmerece su cantidad y calidad, en el que entra la bebida (botella de vino), el postre y el café.
Su personal muy cercano y agradable.

SAUNA EL LAGAR
In a place in La Mancha…
We stayed at the Hotel Rural El Lagar (La Solana, Ciudad Real) on June 26, 2026. We were a group of 8 friends with 3 rooms reserved for a wedding.
Our experience, summarized:
• Broken air conditioning: we arrived in the early morning and none of the rooms had functioning air conditioning. The heat was unbearable and we ended up sleeping with the door open. Imagine the scene.
• Unfulfilled promises: the next day we were promised that the problem would be resolved. We agreed to stay because they offered us an additional fan and a portable air conditioner ("penguin") while they repaired it. Finally, we were informed that there would be no solution.
• Open room: we expressly requested that they not enter our room and that they leave the sheets and towels at reception. Upon returning, we found one of the rooms completely open, with our belongings inside. When we mentioned it, he simply replied that he was surprised.
• Complaint forms: on the day of check-out, we tried to express our dissatisfaction, but we were not even allowed to explain the situation normally. When requesting the complaint forms, we were initially told that there were none. Only when we decided to call the local police did a form appear, which they later tried to photocopy for the seven members of the group. Each person should value this performance as they see fit.
• Threats: during the discussion, as recorded in an audio I have, the person in charge explicitly told me: "I’ll give you two slaps that will kill you." In that situation, we called the Local Police, who came to the establishment and facilitated the delivery of several official complaint forms to us.
I want to make it clear that my criticism is directed exclusively at the management of the establishment, not at the restaurant staff, whose service was correct and professional.
I also recommend checking the opinions of other customers on different platforms. By doing so, you will find that references to problems with the air conditioning do not seem to correspond to an isolated incident, but are mentioned in reviews from over a year ago.
As a final reflection, promises are meant to be kept. In our case, it was not so, and for that reason, I felt deceived. I invite anyone to read the experiences of other customers and draw their own conclusions.

Terrible service
Disappointing, I do not recommend staying at this place. I stayed with 6 friends who went to a wedding last weekend; as soon as we arrived, we were informed that there was a problem with the air conditioning but that they would fix it, and in the meantime, we would manage with a fan. To no one's surprise, after 4 days, they still have not resolved the issue, and from what I have read in other reviews, I conclude that they have been trying to solve this air conditioning problem for years. On the second day, when we arrived at the room, the door was open (which we had not left open), and we had no bedding or towels as they had taken them to wash (when we specified that we did not want room service), but they had not replaced them; we had to request them at night, and they responded that they had misplaced them. The mattress I slept on was pure wire, and the pillow of one of my companions was as hard as a board; the rest were lucky, but my mattress was like a prison in El Salvador. The worst part is not this; the worst of all is that when we tried to negotiate a bit on the room prices since we were suffering from extreme heat, the receptionist became furious, not even allowing us to speak, simply threatening one of my companions with the exact words, "I’ll give you two slaps that will kill you." Such was this gentleman's rage that we ended up calling the local police to resolve the issue, as he also did not have complaint forms for everyone; he only had 4 and intended to make photocopies to reach the 7 forms we requested. We were cramped and enduring extreme heat like "animals"; not even an animal should be in those conditions, and speaking of animals, there was a cage about 24x20 centimeters with a partridge inside on a fridge in the patio, what a crime. I was about to notify the authorities; on the first day we arrived, there was no water, I had to provide it because I could not stand seeing that animal in such deplorable conditions; I am attaching some photos.
In summary, a traumatic experience, especially due to the attitude of this very unpleasant gentleman. The only good thing about the place was the hotel restaurant, which is understandable since it apparently has nothing to do with this gentleman. The food was very good, and the staff, both waiters and cooks, were very kind and attentive.

A very bad experience: No breakfast offered. The blankets are old and made for 90 cm beds and not 140 cm beds. The television is almost the size of an iPad. The bathroom linen is faded and in such a state that I couldn't offer it to anyone. We paid 60 euros without breakfast. It's not worth 40. Avoid.

Very dirty room
The room was very dirty, you could write on the tables about the amount of dust there was, it was not normal, it was weeks of dust. I do not recommend it, especially if you go with children. The door did not close properly either and that does not provide security.
