The place was beautiful
Beautiful hotel. Spent 2 weeks here all inclusive with my partner and 14 year old daughter. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless & spacious and cleaned everyday. Pool area amazing & spotless. Food delicious. Something for everyone every day. Location close to beach and bars and shops.
If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday this is the hotel to go.

Lovely location but I would not return here!
Location itself is beautiful however if you are a social butterfly in the evening I wouldnt bother as after being here 7 days nothing is open.
The atmosphere i can only describe as organised chaos everybody does what they want and nobody is challenged for example we paid 200 pounds more for the level which supposedly gives those that have paid access to exclusive areas and nearly everyday people were sneaking in through the rear doors and taking what was supposed to be yours or meaning you had to wait upto 30 mins for a drink as the area is table service, once you get served make sure you order all the drinks you want for the duration you expect to be there as its unlikely you will get another opportunity. We also paid 30 euros a day for a bali bed when others just said im not paying it and used the beds regardless and not one staff member batted an eyelid. The rooms were nice although if you upgrade to a sea view the hotels definition will vastly differ from your expectations. You get 1 single bottle of water in your room per day for free and out of the 7 nights 3 of them we didnt receive it but the mini bar is well stocked and charged at nearly 3 euro per small bottle of water, the rooms are fairly clean but sheets were never changed just had the beds made up. Numerous nights we were woken up at 11pm and asked if we wanted a after dinner chocolate which I think 11pm is a bit late for that. The staff were pleasant however not many speak English so ensure you have google translate to hand. One day we didnt pay for something as its all inclusive then different staff would say its chargeable. The restaurants and bars have very confusing opening times which never seemed to be open on time.
Alot of people from the apartments were in the hotel pool which they shouldn't have been but got around it by buying food from the pool bar and never leaving.
The hotels entertainment was the same virtually every day and night. And the hotel pool is very small and noisy.
Just thought id add the ac isn't very efficient so the room was almost 30 degrees each evening.
In summary the scenic views and location are lovely but I would not recommend this trip to anyone nor return.

4-star standard but nothing more
I spent my second vacation on La Palma this year at the Meliã on the west side of the island. The hotel is situated on a lava tongue, separated from the road by banana plantations. Public cars and buses, as well as the airport transfer, stop at the road and you have to walk several hundred meters to the hotel. Upon arriving at the reception, it took a very long time; the two receptionists were clearly not enough staff after the arrival of the plane from Madrid. My room matched the description and my expectations, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large. There were no toiletries or slippers, the air conditioning could not handle the July weather, but the shower gel, shampoo, soap, and conditioner were from Rituals and smelled good.
I had booked all-inclusive, the drink selection was good, but a barraquito was not included, as Licor 43 is not included in the all-inclusive menu. Alternatively, there is a well-stocked supermarket in the village. The food in the restaurant was good overall, but not outstanding. The salad selection was very good, as were the ham, salami, and cheese; for the hot dishes, which mostly came from the oven, there was a lot of room for improvement. I found the desserts and cakes terrible; except for the Spanish almond cake, I didn't even try them. They looked very much like thawed cake and chemical creams with lots of food coloring, and labels were almost completely missing. Although there were grilling stations, they were not used for meat or fish all week; only fried eggs and omelets were freshly prepared. The fish and meat were correspondingly tough and dry; with the lamb chops, you could hardly cut the meat from the bone. In the morning, you get your own water and juices as well as coffee from the machines; I didn't like the coffee because of the sweetened milk powder and relied on the coffee at the pool bar, which unfortunately was only available from 10 a.m. At lunch and dinner, you can unfortunately only order drinks from a few waiters, so it takes a correspondingly long time if you are not there right when the restaurant opens; waiting for a quarter of an hour was normal or average. As an all-inclusive guest, you get a wristband, yet you are asked for your room number with every order, and it takes even longer; the tablets regularly had connection problems. I found it very nice that there was a special corner for dogs in the restaurant. The service overall was good and the bar staff in particular were very eager, but the reception was not very helpful. The electrician was promised immediately, but even after two hours in the evening, no one was in the room, so I locked up to go back to the reception the next day. Although one lamp worked again, another one no longer did, and it still didn't get cooler than 23.5 degrees in the room, so I slept with the balcony door open every night to cool the room down a bit.
The complex is nicely designed and the loungers with cushions are comfortable; unfortunately, the parasols with the holey covers offer only very limited shade. There were only very few loungers in the actual shade under the palm trees, which is not ideal for midsummer.
Overall, the hotel was better than the one in the south of the island that I visited last year; it lives up to its four stars, but nothing more. The inadequate air conditioning and monotonous cuisine bothered me the most.

The imposing facade and leisure areas convey the promise of a four-star refuge that, when it disappears when the port opens
The Meliá La Palma hotel (often referred to as Sol La Palma) is a classic example of "love at first sight, deception at first step". Located on top of the beach in Puerto Naos, the exterior and views over the Atlantic are undoubtedly its greatest treasure. The imposing facade and leisure areas convey the promise of a four-star refuge that unfortunately fades when the apartment doors open.
If on the outside the hotel shines under the sun of the Canary Islands, the interior reveals the weight of the years. The contrast is screaming:
Obsolete Decoration: The apartments seem stalled in time, with worn furniture and textiles that have seen better days. The aesthetics, which should be relaxing, end up conveying a sense of loose.
Poor Maintenance: It is common to find functional failures, from doors that do not close well to loose sockets or signs of moisture. The lack of deep renovation is visible in every corner.
Aquém Comfort of the Expected: For a Meliá hotel, a quality standard is expected that the mattresses and bathroom finishes simply do not deliver.

Ok. Would stay again. But nothing special

Standard on parr with what i would expect for a Melia Hotel.

Very few cockroaches
Room good - spacious
90% Spanish guests which always improves any holiday - no rush for Sun-beds & relaxed atmosphere
Cons - the all inclusive food is better than most being a Melia Hotel, but it still churns out the same cycle of food
Food was often cold
Food was constantly covered in flies
(Terrible bad stomach on day 5)
Check in was slow at 1am no staff
Told cold plate of food would be waiting after our delay - yes it was but hard to find , no staff directing us & was covered in flies
At meal times the wait staff look rushed, in the end i stopped asking for water or wine to go with my meal at meal times as it never came
No ice creams by pool for kids
The inclusive pool food is in a hole in wall one part heater one part fridge - its basic if your hungry will do , but thats all
Id would stay here again but I would not go all inclusive - the food you purchase is far better standard & your treated better & not covered in flies
The aesthetics of the building is a bit drab like a 70s council block - but I stopped noticing on day 3
Note - there is a second pool area and the night time entertainment is in the same area - this seems to be completely open to the public. People wondering in & out freely letting each other in via a green gate from the beach then going in the pool. So for security with children & possessions i would be weary.
