Attention, service, cleanliness, details, space...
From minute zero, we felt at home. what warmth and what an environment!
Tonya, lovely. He attended to us throughout the stay and we only have good words to say.
A truly ideal place if what you are looking for is to disconnect, tranquility and a wonderful environment to enjoy the mountains!

Nice place, but not for everyone.

Just right, nice place. The room very large, but very dark. Breakfast with typical local products. A bittersweet experience, with which I like Catalonia.

Don't take room number 3

The hotel Intrèpid is cute and the treatment is very nice. We went 6 days in August 2023 and were "unlucky" to have room number 3. It is very very hot and has a window only 2.5 meters from the street floor, with solid shutters but without bars. Impossible to sleep with the window closed by heat, impossible to sleep with the window open by noise: cotxes, lots of motorcycles, tractors, miscellaneous trucks (garbage, butane)... all this in a narrow street that is cobbled together. Also two or three heartbroken dogs from the neighbors, plus the people who walk by talking and the ones who stop to talk. In addition the hotel boiler room is just below (and not because it is summer is stopped, I suppose by the hot water) and also, although less problematic, the small laundry is next door and the kitchen below (although they only use them for breakfast).
Since there is no grille in the window, you do not rest easy leaving it open at night while you sleep or during the day while you are gone.
You can see that, knowing all this, they installed a small fan long ago but it is totally useless because it is set in such a way that the "wind" does not reach the bed, besides that the noise does not interest you much to sleep.
Go and enjoy the reasonable price of this small hotel in a tiny village, but above all avoid room number 3.

What a disappointment !!

I'm sorry, but our experience with booking the Intrepid Hotel Rural was one of disappointment ! The pictures of the property on Booking.com portray it as elegant rural boutique accommodation, but when we arrived, it was far from ideal.
Firstly, there was nobody there to greet us and check us in, which we believe, is the mark of a good hotelier - a lady who lived on the premises suggested we check our emails as the owners apparently email guests instructions on how to book in !
The email gave the code for the outer courtyard gate and asked the guest to pick up their key from the abandoned reception - the courtyard was extremely scruffy with grass and weeds everywhere - our superior room (room 5) was very small (but clean and well equipped) and had mountain views, that is, if you could stand on tip toes to stare through the tiny windows.- Pi is an ancient farming backwater - the ample public parking was the lane outside the property, leaving one's vehicle at risk of being constantly side-swiped by passing tractors and trailers - the nearest bar / restaurant was approximately a mile or so away and, unless you were super fit, resulted in one having to drive to eat and drink - not conducive to holiday merriment ! We felt that the hotel was not properly described on Booking.com and we were so upset, we drove back to La Seu D'Urgell and booked into the Parador for the night.
Yes, the Intrepid Hotel Rural kept the 120 euros we had paid for the room, but there was no way I was going to stay there as we felt we had been somewhat misled with regard to the quality of the accommodation.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely mountain setting

Lovely hotel in an old stone farmhouse, beautifully appointed with comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast made to order included. Fabulous area for biking, hiking or skiing. Several top rated restaurants nearby and easy driving distance to Andorra. Highly recommend!
