The hotel was one of the better places I have stayed in a while! The staff were amazing and the room and pool was clean. The breakfast was good as well.

Bugs on the floor and in the bathroom

It's pretty dated and dingy. Unfortunately it does not appear that there's much cleaning done around the edges of the rooms. There were numerous insects in plain view and there obviously hadn't been any vacuuming around the edges of the room based on the bugs/dust. Photos are just a few of the ones that I found in a ground floor room. Three were in the middle of the bathroom floor. Checked out early and requested a refund.
Mattresses had double mattress protectors on them, and didn't appear to have any pests although there were some strands of hair between the mattress protectors and what looked like some small chocolate crumbs or something under the sheet on one bed.
Sheets were clean. Torn bedskirt on one bed.
Seemed like A/C and fridge worked fine.
Very inexpensive place to stay, so that's a plus. But I wouldn't go there again even if it were free.

We apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. June bugs are particularly active this time of year all around Alva and businesses where there is heavy lighting... They are drawn to our bright security lighting, but we agree they have no place inside guest rooms. We have recently partnered with a new exterminator who completed an upgraded, aggressive spray regimen to eliminate this problem. We have also addressed your housekeeping feedback with our team to ensure thorough edge-cleaning and detail checks across all rooms moving forward.
We took over the hotel and have plans for further updates and upgrading in the future

Good Stay in Alva

Good stay in Alva. The hotel is a little dated but has helpful staff, really good hot breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Clean rooms

Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean. Breakfast included a basic variety including some hot options. The mattress was extra firm which is not my style but I rarely sleep well in a motel. My daughter's room did have a slight musky smell.
I like supporting locally owned lodging instead of corporate chains.

Friendly staff. Very clean rooms. Nice quaint town. Definitely will stay there again
