Terrific option on outskirts of. downtown
Cherry Wonderdog really enjoyed The Element in Asheville. It was a terrific option for us right on the outskirts of downtown, about a 1 mile, 4 minute drive to all the excitement. Sure, it's nice to be within walking distance, but in return, you get modern amenities and comfort that is unlikely to be present in similarly priced accommodations in the city.
Our room on the seventh floor was fabulous. Excellent view. Quiet and efficient AC. Large TV well positioned facing our king bed. Kitchenette, frig, microwave, and even reverse osmosis drinking water. That's definitely a first for me. Something about the bed pillows though was off. We had to get ours replaced still longed for the ones back home.
Staff was welcoming and warm ... at the front desk and the cool complimentary evening reception where everyone gets two drinks. The local IPA on draft was REALLY good. Breakfast was far better than the ones we had at the Fairfield and Hampton on our way down to Asheville. There was actually food without sugar, like plain yogurt, along with granola, fresh fruit, and a couple egg dishes.
Parking was convenient, including the spots inside the garage. There was a cool rooftop lookout area, a pretty ingenious (though deafeningly noisy) spot on the second floor for dogs to roam and pee, and outdoor seating overlooking the mountains for breakfast.
Rules were already in place to conserve energy, like maid service every three days by default. The shower temperature was preset at a comfortable heat, but I wish the pressure hadn't been so restrictive. To me, that's conservation at the expense of guest comfort which smacks of virtue signaling. It's presumptuous to assume that folks go on vacation to protect the planet.
All in all, however, this was a great hotel and one that I would recommend for consistency, cleanliness, and comfort. Value-wise, I think you would be hard pressed to do better.

Stay was great. Property is easy to get to and conveniently located.
Breakfast was delightful.
Only concern is mold on roof of bathroom. Better ventilation needed in there.

Noise level
I stayed at the Element Hotel in Asheville on July 27, 2026. The room itself was very nice—clean, modern, and well-appointed. The staff was also friendly, and the property has a lot of potential.
Unfortunately, the hotel’s location right next to the freeway made for one of the worst nights of sleep I’ve had in a very long time. The walls and windows did very little to block out the constant traffic noise. I could hear nearly every car and truck passing by throughout the night, which made it extremely difficult to get any rest.
If you’re a light sleeper, I would strongly recommend requesting a room away from the freeway or considering another hotel altogether. While I appreciated the quality of the room, a good night’s sleep is one of the main reasons I stay at a hotel, and unfortunately, this stay fell well short of that expectation. Because of the excessive noise, I would not choose to stay here again.

New Favorite!
Everything about Element Asheville is extraordinary. The rooms are filled with amenities and the beds are extremely comfortable. The entire hotel is very thoughtful and personalized. The staff is incredible and the social hour afternoons plus the breakfast buffet puts it ahead of the competition. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice Property, away from crowds.
Not downtown. Quite a walk up a hill. That being said beautiful property with a very good breakfast. Good location off the beaten path. Parking extra, WiFi decent
