Right in the heart of Chester, Ca. Very close to Lassen National Park, very well kept with a huge bathroom!!! Had such a good time while staying there, walking distance from the area restaurants and local market. Would definitely recommend

Everything was great except the water in the sink was very cold and then very hot. It couldn’t be adjusted. The water temperature in the shower was fine.

Pleasantly Surprised

Chester is a very small town, but is one of the closest to Lassen NP. The Rose Quartz Inn is a Best Western property, and appeared to be the best place in town. One section is an older one with outward-facing doors, and the other section is a traditional 2-story building (with halls). We stayed in the 2-story section, and were pleasantly surprised. Our two-queen room was very comfortable, and everything worked well. It had a desk & chair, very large flat screen, and large bathroom with excellent shower pressure. The bedside lighting could be better. It's right on the main street, and there is some road noise, but not a big issue.
The free breakfast was fine--similar to a Hampton Inn. Staff were friendly. Overall, a nice stay---not luxury, but fine for us. FYI, Chester did not seem to have anyplace to eat even close to fine dining. But it's only a 10 minute drive to the retirement community of Lake Almanor, and there are several good places there (try the Red Onion Grill).

Great place to stay when visiting Mt Lassen. Special shout out to Chris the breakfast guy. He was super helpful and even made a batch of eggs without meat for us. Please note that there is a tip jar, although sometimes it takes some looking to find it. Would definitely stay there if we return.

Nice place to stay in Chester. I little pricey, but the restaurant next door was a nice surprise and we liked the outside sitting area in back.
