Great Hotel, Sketchy Shared Parking

I chose this place because it was the highest-rated hotel near Cincinnati with FREE parking. I booked it three weeks in advance. I used 86,000 Hilton Honors points and $68.74 for our two-night stay in a 1 King Bed Studio Suite. Check-in was at 3:00 PM, and checkout was at 11:00 AM.
I like the Homewood Suites because the rooms have everything you need. This includes a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and stove. The room also had a dining table for four, a big HD TV, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel offers a FREE hot breakfast, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. We did not use them.
Our stay was fine, and we had no problems. However, the parking made us worry. There were signs about recent car break-ins in the shared movie theater lot. I felt nervous every morning. I had to check if our car was okay. Luckily, our vehicle was safe.

After scouring the landscape for a decently priced, well-located and brand new hotel, i came across the Homewood Inn Suites in Oakley. Many of the others had bad reviews and sounded awful, with dirt, noise and vehicle break-ins. This one on the other hand has proven to be an excellent establishment, and one I would stay at again if i ever have to come back to Ohio and need a hotel in the area.

Very mediocre hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for four weeks after spending time at Staybridge hotels in Houston and Charleston. I will say this: if the Cincinnati Staybridge were closer to Midtown, where I was working, I would stay there without hesitation.
This hotel’s location is fine—about a 15-minute drive from Midtown. The rooms are spacious, the hotel is clean, and the staff is pleasant. However, in an area where extended-stay hotels are abundant, this hotel stands out for its poor treatment of guests.
I am writing this review from my room while using my smartphone’s hotspot because the hotel’s internet service is horrible—about 8 Mbps on a very good day. Breakfast is free, and it shows: there is no bread, only bagels, and no assortment of fruit, both of which Staybridge provides. The on-site laundry facilities also cost extra; at Staybridge, they are complimentary.
Last week, lightning struck the hotel and caused a power outage. Although the television sets now work, the hotel’s entertainment system remains down, and no channels or programs are available. This is, of course, a temporary problem, but the hotel has failed to restore television service for nine days. That says something about its attitude toward its guests.
In short, I had to stay here. If you can avoid it, my strongest advice is: do so.

I was quite happy with my stay at the Homewood suites. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. Everything worked well. Lots of parking. The area is safe with lots of shopping and quite a few restaurants. The only minor negative thing I can find is that the TV was quite nice but a little more complicated than I usually see. It was a very minor issue. I think anyone considering staying here would be making a good choice.
