Do it again

We drove from So. Utah to the Redwood Forest in one day. What a beautiful experience. The drive was wonderful, the destination was just as wonderful. The forest is vast so beautiful, we hiked took pictures and bought T shirts. We will be back.

Don’t go!

This property is basically a receptacle for junk, junk, and more junk. Our room was filthy—crumbs and cobwebs everywhere, a used bandage and shower shoes in the shower, dirty mugs, no coffee, under stairwell full of junk, entrance loaded with junk, rusty desk chairs for deck furniture and a manager who refuses to answer my request to reimburse me for the rest of booking. We booked four nights, could only stand it one.

Trash all over!

This isn’t a hotel. It’s some sort of hoarder situation. There were literally truckloads of trash outside the front. It’s so sketchy we didn’t even stay.

Unlocked, creepy place

Reservations were easy to make but (as usual) the price was $10 higher than the advertised price. Not a big deal. What was a big deal is that the place is in the middle of the woods, address is poorly marked (would be very difficult to find after dark) and it’s all self service. We arrived to find no one there, the front door unlocked and a post it note on our unlocked bedroom door. No locks, are you kidding me!? Did not feel like spending the night in an empty, unlocked house out in the woods.
Ratings looked pretty good but if you look closely, a lot of the good ones have been posted by “local guides”. Hmmm, a little local “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” going on?

No restaurants or lounges and house smells terrible

We booked here thinking it was a resort in the Redwood Forest. It advertises that it has 10 restaurants and 3bars/lounges on site. We arrived to find that it is someone’s log house in the middle of nowhere, and it’s shared accommodations. The only restaurants and lounges are in the nearby town of Crescent City, but you have to drive into town to get there. We checked our room but the house smelled terrible, so we left without spending the night. You have to wonder why they misrepresent the property. What else isn’t true?
