sunset and fireworks cruise
We purchased tickets about a month in advance for the Lake Lawn Queen sunset and fireworks cruise. We arrived early to walk around the resort. We got on line in front of the boat at 7:00 where already a couple dozen people were lined up. Boarding began promptly at 7:15. We sat on top on side cushioned seats. The upside was great views but the downside was lots of black bugs flying around and sticking to and draining clothing. The boat left around 7:30 and docked around 10:30. The love music from a man and a woman at the front was great. The sunset around 8:30 was beautiful and the fireworks around 9:30 were spectacular. It was a bit cool, so we wore light jackets and then immediately sought shelter and warmth downstairs after the fireworks.

Watch your folio from Lakelawn Resort
I've stayed at Lake Lawn many times and too be fair, we return for a reason. It's a nice place. Nothing fabulous, but a good place for families.
However, check your folios when they email them to you. Not only were there charges we didn't place, we were charged $250 for a room cleaning fee, claiming we smoked in the room. We did not. When I tried to speak with them about the charge, Juan, the manager was rude and useless. We will not be returning and I have disputed the charge with my cc company. Just proceed with caution.

Charming if a bit faded
This is a classic American lake resort and there is a timelessness to it that is familiar and comforting. That said, it is pretty tired and needs updating. Food was good and reasonably priced at 1878. As long as your expectations are properly managed, you’ll be fine.

Family Stay in July 2026
Bigger rooms slept 6 with a loft for the kids. There were not any pool towels provided and one shower for 6 people was a bit challenging. The food and beverage team were great hosting our event but the front desk staff wasn't sure how to handle a instacart/walmart grocery delivery.
Lots of itemized charges to review on the check out bill and the front desk staff just said "it will come off" but couldn't tell me if there was a hold or a charge related to the $50 per night incidentals. The booking process for the watersports was less than straightforward and going in-person was the best way to get questions answered and equipment reserved. Not sure I would stay there again.

-the front desk made *many* points of telling and reminding us that housekeeping services are every other day (which is a bit irritating that they still correlate this to COVID... at this point you're just being cheap)
-on the second day, we called in the morning to request that the sheets be completely changed as we had gotten some dirt on them and were reminded that cleaning is only every other day. they never confirmed to us that the sheets would be changed
-the sheets were changed that day (good) but the room was only kind of cleaned. the bathroom sink was not wiped down, toilet was not cleaned, toilet paper not restocked, glassware not cleaned/replaced, some trash not taken
-we then called to ask about these remaining items being done and were again lectured that cleaning is only every other day. after needing to argue our point that the cleaning had already taken place that morning, but not to our expectations, they said they would dispatch someone
-the cleaner didn't show up for 3+ hours, during which time we were trying to stay away from the room. we called to inquire about the status and were again lectured that cleaning is every other day. after further explaining our point, they said they would send someone right away
-that person did then come, but did so with a bit of a snide attitude. we were sitting on the patio at this time
