Idyllic resort

I stayed here for a work retreat, which felt really magical. You can stay in cabins throughout the property or get a room in a larger house/lodge. I stayed in the Homestead House, which was very comfortable. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous - walking to/from the main lodge and just around the property offered stunning views. The staff was so friendly and helpful. And the room itself was very comfortable. Everybody at that resort was in such a good mood, which was a nice bonus!

overnight stay

We stayed in the Lodge. The room and bathroom were small. The stairway was difficult for someone with a bad knee. Some of the staff were a little unpleasant. Our dinner was good but not extraordinary. The breakfast buffet was awesome.

Unexpected charge

Beautiful marina and resort. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Basin Harbor
website indicates that overnight dockage allows access to resort amenities-
doesn’t mention automatic resort fee of $50 in addition to dockage fee.

Perfectly Fun, Understated, Pup Friendly Vacation

It’s my 4th year staying within the Basin Harbor Resort and already looking forward to next year. If a laid back New England resort full of activities and delicious food is what you’re looking for, this is the place. It reminds me of how Nantucket used to be before that turned into the Hamptons - relaxed, unpretentious, understated and fun - simply a perfect get-a-way. The golf course is in great condition as well. And to admit that driving in and seeing a couple of helicopters and private prop plans parked next to their grass runway was fun too.

$149 Hamburger

Don't go by boat. You have to pay for an overnight mooring to have a marginal $24 hamburger. Or is that a $149 hamburger....

Thank you for your feedback. We'd like to clarify that we do offer courtesy dockage for short visits. Guests arriving by boat may use our courtesy dockage for up to four hours for a flat fee of $50, making it easy to enjoy our restaurants, golf course, or other resort amenities without booking overnight dockage.
We understand dockage fees aren't for everyone, but they help us manage limited waterfront capacity while ensuring space is available for visiting boaters throughout the day. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope you'll consider visiting us again.
