Very clean. Very comfortable. Fifties era motel. It's our motel of choice when we visit Stockbridge two or three times a year.

Not worth the risk
I rarely write a bad review (I have over 1,000 reviews on this platform and can count the number of bad reviews on one hand). And some of this might have been my fault for not doing more research, but I was desperate for a getaway that would not break the bank.
But there were some serious concerns and we were particularly upset by the lack of response by the staff on duty. While the general manager emailed (after I posted my concerns on the Choice site) he was using the information as a learning experience for his staff, we still felt it was important to pass on.
We got a call in the morning asking if we wanted to change to another room type; when we said no, we were told the room was on the second floor. When we got there, we were put into a room on the first floor.
There was a no-smoking label on the door, but the room had a heavy smoke smell so we had to run the AC on high for a while to air the room out. Did they move us from the second floor to first and just put the label on the room? No idea, but enough questions from us to justify suspicions.
Two safety concerns: There was no smoke detector. We did not bring this to the attention of the person who seemed to be in charge until we were leaving, but he admitted he knew, with no concern about it.
More important, I washed my foot in the bathtub late the first night so noted it was slippery. I brought a towel into the tub for my shower the next morning, but still slipped and fell due to no texture in the tub or bathmat. Fortunately, with the towel, I was able to avoid serious injury. I went to the office after finally getting myself up (bruised).
I told them I fell in the tub and got no question if I was OK. I asked if they had a bath mat to make the tub safe. He said he would bring me one. He had a cleaning staff member bring me another towel. I asked her for something rubber for the bottom of the tub so it would not be slippery, but she said she had nothing like that. With no grab bar, I had to use a towel and extreme care to not slip again. Thought about not taking a shower the next morning because of this, but didn't want to go all day without one.
Next day, when my husband checked us out, he talked to the person who seemed to be in charge. No concern about whether I was OK, or anything else that might have indicated to us they would follow up (the main reason I chose to notify the Choice network we are a member of and that we booked the room through).
Pay more, stay anywhere else and don't risk it without some repairs/renovations (there were more problems we did not note because they were more cosmetic than safety).

Rip you off don’t stay here
This is the worst hotel. They rip people off. I made a reservation and cancelled within the cancellation policy. They charged me anyway.
I call the hotel and they say they are going to fix and never do. This hotel is a scam they take a deposit on more than one night stay.
I cancelled 5 days before my stay. Worst place ever. The cancellation policy was 72 hours

It was in a good location. We paid a very high price due to a concert at Tanglewood. I imagine the rooms were very dated but clean. We were given a bottle of wine and a little gift bag with goodies , which was very nice . They really should update the rooms and the outside of the building.

We stopped for just a few hours to sleep, but came in after midnight. The gentleman at the desk was incredibly accommodating with waiting for us to check in.
The bed was surprisingly way more comfortable than other more expensive hotels we’ve stayed in and the room was very clean. Water pressure for the shower was great and there was a reasonable continental breakfast available upon checkout.
