Adorable Old School Hotel with Historic Collection

Affordable hotel with old school vibe. Lovely friendly staff. The manager has an amazing collection of artifacts and folklore and will give a very interesting talk and tour. And lots of Kauai chickens with two adorable hotel cats. Nice central location you can drive all over the island from here! Fun and funky!

Stayed here overnight when arriving to the island late before driving to a resort in the morning. It’s an older property but this was super convenient for a quick overnight. So close to the airport we were there before I realized it. They left me a message with the lockbox code to pick up my key as we arrived after their normal office hours. Everything was seamless and easy.

Loved our cottage.
Reviews were correct that the bathrooms are small, so if a spacious suite is what you want, go elsewhere and pay for it. We loved our stay.
Clean, friendly staff and perfect for a place we used for sleeping, eating a few meals and getting ready for adventures. Nice kitchen, comfortable beds and not a bug to be seen during our three days.

The local front end receptionist or manager at the hotel who took calls the morning we called with an emergent need to check in was helpful in every way. She was clear and kind and then over delivered on a conservative expectation. Just the best. Exactly what we needed that morning and she could tell. She treated us like real people and that’s rare these days.

Quaint and authentically Hawaiian. Old building is well maintained. No amenities and small rooms, but comfortable and clean
