The room and employees were wonderful! I was just there in Feb and they had a complimentary breakfast and now it’s a restaurant that charges for breakfast! $16 for breakfast, especially during the week, is ridiculous! We were not told before we went in! There was a sign on the door in 14 pt font. I couldn’t read it going in the door up front and there was NOT one on the door going into the restaurant! I paid for this Holiday Inn expecting the same complimentary breakfast. Very disappointed!

we checked into our room and i was shocked! badly stained carpet dirty and the floor. the bed looked as if the covers were just pulled up. the bathroom black dark rings around the tub..
the staff made it right the best they knew how. if this hotel wants to succeed the manager will need to care about the customer. small town not much to choose from therfore there is a great opportunity to get a better rati g just not this visit.
the staff save this from being a really bad rating. pay your housekeeping staff more and inspect the outcome from time to time.
for me it will not be on my list to return. also note breakfast is no longer included in the rate.

The lobby area and cafe had been remodeled, but once I entered the room, I could see the carpet had big dark spots over the entire area. It was nasty. The bathroom was in good repair until I looked in the bathtub. It had either a grime ring or rust ring around the tub. The bottom of tub was covered with something white to cover where it probably was rusted through. My husband spoke to receptionist and we were moved to supposedly an upgrade. Room was bigger but in the same bad condition. I was so tired after 12 hours of traveling. Will never stay there again. It will be worth the travel time to stay in Hattiesburg or Mobile. Just was visiting for Mother's Day.

Hotel need better management, customer service, and maintenance
I had reserved a King room about a month ago. I checked my IHG app when I was 30 minutes away to find it had been changed to a single queen room. I called the hotel to be told they had overbooked the hotel and had to move people around and they couldn't help me. Through the IHG app I contacted customer service and they verified they could see on the hotels computer system I had booked a king room and they would contact the hotel directly to correct the matter. Upon arrival I checked in to find out they had not talked IHG customer service and said they had not king room for me. I told them I was calling customer service back and then the clerk mysteriously found me a room.
The hotels website stated it offered a free breakfast, but upon arrival we were told they weren't honoring that anymore and it would be $14.95 each.
Upon entering the room I noticed holes in the carpet, the room smelled musty, and the surface of the tub was peeling off in large pieces. When I went to shower at 10:30 pm there was no hot water. I phoned the desk 3 times and no one answered, a voice mail would eventually pick up saying it was full and not receiving messages. I went down to the desk and was told, "it (the hot water) worked fine last week, no one else has complained." I was then told the hotel was full land she couldn't do anything about it. I asked if there was anywhere else in the hotel I could possibly shower and was told no. I stated I didn't think I should have to pay for a hotel room that didn't have hot water and was told I could check out if I wanted. (At this point it's 11 pm!) I said that wasn't a realist option and she said she would give me 10,000 points (which I have yet to receive.) No one ever came and checked on the hot water. The next night we had slightly warm water probably because it was hot outside.

Stay away especially if you are Asian
Traveling cross country with my family and staying at IHG properties. Stay away from this property if you are Asian!!!!! Felt the racism immediately upon entry. And of course after a quick internet search Lucedale is/was a sundown town. This property is under going construction and they were still doing construction at 9:00pm. Front desk manager Kayla is extremely unwelcoming, rude, and racist. No hello at check in, just wobbling out from the back looking at me like I am an extreme inconvenience, no welcome gift and when asked about it she stated that housekeeping manages that and the doors are locked. The welcome gifts were out in the open… the hotel smells of mold, ice machine does not work, bath tubs are chipped and dated, carpets are dirty. Essentially, all the other event reviews are true but for me, as an Asian, I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe staying here. Drive further out and stay away from here.
