Located in Monticello, 12 miles from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Inn at Monticello provides concierge services and free WiFi throughout the property. SCAM!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
absolutely the nastiest hotel I’ve ever seen. we paid for a room, went to the room and I kid you not I felt like I was in a movie where you’re in a super sketchy drug film and you would except people high on heroine staying. it smelled so bad of cigarettes and everything about it was very unsettling. the carpet looked like it was blood stains on it. we immediately walked back to the office and checked out and booked a different hotel room somewhere else. Of course the man wouldn’t give us our money back. I feel like they do that on purpose because they know no one wants to stay in this hotel. we paid 80 some dollars to walk in and walk right now. There was even another lady in the office when we walked back in complaining that she didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in her room and the guy wouldn’t give her money back and apparently they were fully booked so he could move her to a different room. I told

Don't stay here - dangerous, dirty, run-down, possible drug dealer's hub
This is THE most sketchy and dangerous place I've ever stayed. It wasn't good when we arrived, then became increasingly worrisome as the night progressed. Even my husband - who actually likes places 'a little on the edge' - agreed he was extremely uncomfortable with the place.
If it hadn't been so late when we arrived, and the local patrons weren't gathered in the parking lot surrounding our car - and appeared to be 'making deals' in the parking lot, we would have left for the night and come back in the morning to pick up our stuff. My husband thought it was probably safer just to stay locked in our room for the night.
The cigarette smoke soaked rooms were accented by drapes barely hanging over the windows. The bathroom tub seemed to have been painted at some point and the paint was now pealing off - or perhaps it had been soaked in acid at some point. The dirt and trash swept into corners throughout the hotel were piled high and had clearly not been cleaned in many months, possibly longer. Some of the patrons had chow in the parking lot and left the remnants and residue of their meals on the walls and sidewalks of the motel - chicken bones, greasy wrappers, crushed up beer cans, etc. The door locks did not include anything more than the door handle - it definitely did not inspire confidence in a good night's sleep.
Then, to punctuate the atmosphere, someone came knocking on our door at 11 pm insisting she needed to talk to Chris - 'where's Chris' 'just let me talk to Chris'. Note to Chris - please let your customers know when you change rooms. Also, you might want to dial-back your business with that lady - she didn't seem to be doing very well.
I guess I should have paid more attention to the signs at the front desk letting customers know they could not stay longer than 21 days at a time and must check out for at least 24 hours before they can move back in. That must be code for unsafe and sketchy.
I will say the lady at the front desk was very friendly.
The sheets appeared clean. And, so far, it doesn't seem like we picked up lice or bed bugs from this place. So I guess we got away lucky with our lives and our health.
Do yourselves a favor, pay the extra few bucks, and stay anyplace else.

STAY AWAY!
Absolutely disgusting. Rated as 3.5 stars on some platforms, shouldn't even be listed at all. Revolting. Drunks fighting in the parking lot. Filthy carpets, broken-down furnishings, insects, stained towels. I'd give more details, but I don't want to vomit.
Save yourself, better to sleep on the street than to stay here.

I was expecting a no frills motel or hotel at this price. So when half the stuff in the room wasnt working and the room was run down, I really wasnt going to complain though i was dissapointed. But anyone staying here needs to know how unsafe this property is. There are drug dealers, pimps/prostitues and people selling stolen merchandies that approach you on the property. Its absolutely scrap and somone even asked me for the keys to my car. I called them through my booking service to discuss what had happened and they told me I was making it up and didnt bother to do anything about it. I told them to look at all the reviews on the internet, its wasnt just me. PLEASE, SPARE YOURSELF OF THE STRESS, POTENTIAL DANGER TO YOURSELF OR LOVED ONES,

Take the one star seriouslu
This place is every bit as horrible as the reviews said. We went to a concert at Bethel Woods and thought, "it's only one night, what's the harm." wrong. The place is so filthy we didn't want to use the shower. The room stunk of stale cigarette smoke. People were screaming off the balcony at 1:30 in the morning. And most disturbingly, between all the cigarette burns on the night stand and the fact that the light was plugged in behind the mattress, I found it 3/4 unplugged touching the sheets (I unplugged it completely), I felt uneasy all night that the place was a fire trap. If you need a place to smoke crack or hook up with a prostitute, this is the place for you.
