Old mattress and sheets, and bad customer service

We couldn't sleep well because the mattress was old and pilling underneath, and the bedsheets were ripped. It felt like sleeping on a bed of sand. The worse part is, we were promised 2 free future nights by the property manager on duty as an apology, which we never received. When I followed up with Josh from the property with proof of the offer, we were ignored.

Not a Place to Stay

I booked 3 nights. Night 1…no tv remote; contacted “Josh” via message and email. Eventually, I received a message that it probably was under the bed or some such hidden place. I had already looked, finding nothing. On day 2, I messaged again about the missing tv remote. They would send someone. No one ever came.
There was no bath mat so I used a bath towel for the mat, only to find footprints from shoes on the towel. Many of the towels were rather gray and not the white they actually were. Several had dark marks/stains.
The floor in the bathroom was dirty. With my feet clean from a shower, when I walked with damp feet, I left footprints on the floor.
There was thick dust on the baseboards in the whole suite.
I was also alone there and began to not feel safe.
I left one day early, knowing I was not leaving the proper notice in order to get a refund. When I let “Josh” know I was vacating early, he tried to lure me to not leave, which I already had, by offering extra nights, at DP Suites, at another place, even another time. I wanted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM again. I turned down offers. Then he offered a “full refund” which I accepted, but as many of you reviewers before me, no such refund has happened nor ever will, I am guessing. I told him that if he would refund just my last night, I would be satisfied. He was good with that. Then, I gave him a Zelle account to which he would deposit the refund. I was there May 27-28, leaving early 5/29. It is June 20th. ZERO, NADA, NOTHING! They LIE, spit out nonsense, and never follow through on anything. I wish I had read these reviews before I stayed there.
FYI…my third night IN A DIFFERENT HOTEL of my choosing turned out to be GREAT!

Avoid

There is no office or physical check in. It’s all done via AI. Checked in using code. That evening I almost stepped on a vagrant lying at bottom of my stairs. The lighting is almost nil outside so was tough to see him. I was also there during a heat wave and my room the AC didn’t work. Also strangely no light bulb in bedside lamp. Because there are no staff on site I could not be moved to another room til next day so tough sleep. The hotel (AI) offered to refund me for one night. However after months worth of mssgs back and forth with AI I gave up on that refund happening. Agoda ended up refunding when I contacted my credit card. The hotel also tried to hold my refund hostage until I removed my review on Agoda. That’s not legal in California Hotel itself beside highway 111 where there are some vagrants (hence the man sleeping at the bottom of steps). The rooms have been updated but exterior has not. Very very dated and bad lighting at night. Definite lack of security. No daily housekeeping but that was the least of the issues. This place could be so much better than what’s going on there right now. They need to smarten up.

Creepy spot with no A/C

Absolutely disastrous stay! I think this property is managed from far away by a largely automated system. Never saw any staff as there’s no lobby or check in interaction. I originally booked via text to take advantage of a wedding block of rooms. When I arrived they had no record of my reservation so over the phone they booked me “the last room available” at the normal rate (not the wedding discount) and two queen beds, not the king bed I’d asked for. When I came back to my room after an event, the A/C was not working. Also the sliding glass door to the pool had been left open by someone who’d apparently entered my room but the curtains were closed which really creeped me out as a woman staying alone. At 9:30PM the hotel told me they’d send someone to fix the A/C and they never did. By 11:30PM they confirmed they wouldn’t be sending anyone. It was over 100 degrees in my room. They offered to move me the next morning but then reversed that by saying they were sold out. What a relief! Booked a much nice hotel down the street. Still waiting on my full refund!

Book elsewhere

Avoid. Property is not secure. Bathroom sinks didn't drain. Shady experience.
