Great place to stay at PSU

My recent stay at the Hyatt Place State College was excellent. The hotel is very nice and had the amenities I come to expect from a Hyatt -- clean, comfortable rooms and beds, free coffee and refrigerators in the room, fitness center, lounge with bar, and friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown not far from the center of the Penn State campus. The parking garage is across the street and very reasonably priced with "in/out" privileges, although one does not really need to drive to get around and experience the town. The rooms were quiet at night and comfortable (not too hot nor too cold) and reasonably priced. Definitely would recommend.

A gem of a hotel

It was my first time at this location and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was helpful from the first moment I walked up, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was top notch. And you can't beat the location for access to the town (although it is a little further from the center of campus).
Parking across the street is a little odd (I could have sworn the parking garage was under) but not a big deal. The Federal Tap House restaurant connected to the hotel was one of the better "hotel restaurants" I've eaten at, so that was a bonus as well.

Would Recommend

Staff is friendly, overall hotel is clean. A restaurant and a Target in the same building is very convenient. The only downside is that the lobby is on the second floor and the parking garage is across the street, so if you're traveling by yourself, you can't quickly drop your bags in the lobby and then park.

Penn State visit

Nice hotel with large pleasant lounge and breakfast area . Nice large room in very good condition. Nice breakfast, hope they keep the steel cut oatmeal and blue berries. Great location.

The hotel is well situated in State College and convenient to all downtown locations. The hotel appears new and in excellent condition and the room was spacious and had two beds and a pull-out couch which was good for our family. Check-in process was easy. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast included pot items such as eggs and sausage and was quite good. The hotel itself does not have any parking, but there are several paid parking garages very close by and the hotel can offer discounted parking rates. Overall this was a nice hotel and I would stay here again.
